Yes, Westin and it's three restaurants is very nice indeed. That especially goes for Vertigo which I wholeheartidly recommend! If I had the dosh I wouldn't hesitate to live all year round at the hotel :)

 

However, contrary to samak, I don't think there is a dress code in place -- at least not at Vertigo and the top floor bar. I've been to both many, many times...

went their with a visitor, who really thought he needed to wear shorts in bangkok!!! the lady at the entrance told me politely in thai that the other guy was not welcome. never experienced that before in bangkok except at the Grand Palace and at the Oriental...

before you waste 40 bht on the Skytrain , here comes the Oriental lobby dresscode update :

 

no backpackers :applause:

no sandals

no sleeveless shirts

no shorts after 6 PM
