Truth or fiction? Doesn't really matter.

"Som nom na" only goes so far...as in the guy just may not know, but everyone around him does. So...if he doesn't know and gets burned...how can that be "Som nom na?" Where as, if he is told, ignores you, then gets burned, it is "Som Nom na" for sure...

The only real problem I can see is if the O.P. is wrong about the situation.

I know two guys in situations sort of like this

Bloke 1 doesn't live here - takes care of girlfriend. I knew eventually I may/may not hear about a "boyfriend" so asked him if he wanted to know if I ever heard.

NO was his answer - she's young why shouldn't she have a boyfriend as long as it doesn't ever interfere with my time with her.

The other bloke lives here - and if told the GTG had a boyfriend would refuse to believe it - so again no point in telling.

Like I said, depends on the person and the situation, I'd want to know. I can see where it could be ugly either way...tell the guy, he disbelieves you, and hates you for it...don't tell the guy, he finds out, then finds out you knew and didn't tell him...and hates you.
