What Film (Movie) Have You Just Watched?

Hope Gap [2020]
A couple's visit with their son takes a dramatic turn when the father tells him he plans on leaving his mother after 29 years of marriage. An otherwise grim drama set on the scenic southern English coast.

Third Star [2010]
Enjoyable road trip movie where James, who has cancer, and his three closest lifelong friends go on an ill-advised journey to the stunning coastal area of Barafundle Bay in West Wales.

English Dogs In Bangkok [2020]
This is an instantly forgettable mindless violence B-movie gang wars story, based on a true story so it says, of farang steroid pushers in Bangkok that Taffy Edwards (real name!) thought to direct, probably whilst drinking a few sat in any one of Bangkok's sexpat bars. It's not unwatchable if you go in expecting nothing to start with, but it is 90 minutes you won't get back.

One Night in Bangkok (2020)

An English language Thai movie, with a plot seemingly borrowed from a few other movies - Collateral (2004) - for one.

Engrossing, some good acting, for the most part, very nicely shot. I liked it.

Raised by Wolves series 2020, absolute garbage from Ridley Scott. How could a man who created Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator direct this woke nonsense? Ethnically diverse kids raised by 2 androids one black the other a white woman. Man weak and daft, woman strong with super powers who defeats all the men up against her. Bit of a PC problem when it comes to her v the black robot.

Les Misérables [2019]
Brilliant French police thriller full of energy throughout has three undercover agents patrolling the streets of todays multicultural France trying not to screw up. Set in modern-day Montfermeil, the setting of Victor Hugo’s novel of the same name, the new filmmaker Ladj Ly stages his own impassioned cry against oppression. Perhaps one of the most memorable films to come out in a long time. Worth seeing with English subtitles.

Wish Man (2019)

Stars:Andrew Steel, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Tom Sizemore

One boy's wish changed a man. One man's wish changed the world.

Movie based on the beginnings of the Make a Wish Foundation.

Excellent movie, a bit reary eyed at times but a solid, feel good movie!

**** 1/2

Tom Sizemore is still alive, and acting?  I'm impressed.  He seems like he was scheduled for the Global RIP list a long time ago...  Last thing I saw him in, and assumed it would be his last thing, was Celebrity Rehab...

I'm Thinking Of Ending Things [2020]
Well crafted and bizarre art house drama as only Charlie Kaufman can make which is an acquired taste for some and somewhat lacking in any conviction, never dull moment when a young woman travels with her new boyfriend to his parents' secluded farm.

English Dogs in Bangkok (2020)

In the streets of Thailand, a trail of destruction and mayhem ensues when a notorious soldier (Byron Gibson) and criminal kickboxer (Ron Smoorenburg) join forces to become the biggest illegal steroid supplier in Asia.

Fun movie. A don't think too mutt flick.

*** 1/2
