radioman
GF says Thai news reporting Asoke and New Phetchaburi roads under water. Presumably from the heavy rains. Any info?

radioman
Actually 22 would be worse than Asoke from my perspective
Vintage_Kwai
Bangkok Hospital soi on New Petchburi was about ankle deep around lunchtime, halfway to knee level in the sub-soi. It's gone down a bit but all the drains are still full...
cavanami
The Thai TV News is showing some of the flooded streets in the Bangkok area. Looks not too serious. Yingluck is getting her photo-ops. The sat weather picture shows another typhoon in the Philippine area but not sure which direction it will be heading. Bar4
There was a lot of rain in the morning. Pic of Soi 4 attached. Unusually it took some time to drain away. Cheers, Mark
Pom Michael
Back about 1996/7 they raised Soi 4 about 30 cms. They did this just by paving layers of asphalt over and over again. Took about 2 years before the sidewalks were completely raised. For Soi 3, they did that the proper way a few years later - completely raised the road and installed underground drainage. Flashermac
In my old neighbourhood the city had raised the pavement repeatedly in an effort to try to keep it dry. You could see how far they had gone when you stepped down about a foot into the older shops. p.s. Flooded anyway!
