Hi guys,

Quick question. :help:

Would I be correct in assuming that no-one gives a toss about the ban on e-cigarettes / vaping ? :relieved:

Or is this seen as a good way to extract a few baht from pissed-up farangs ??

Web opinion on this, as with most subjects, is unclear, but I'm pretty sure that the "on the ground" answer is here....

Sadly, it's been about 3 years since my last trip to LOS, but in six weeks - yeeeessss

Regards,

Seems a brilliant idea to me - can't be worse that sucking down my pack a day of Marlboros, it just can't be. Problem is, most places I go it's either illegal, unavailable, or completely unreliable product - so waiting on this one for now. But looking forward to it, somehow. Hoping it'll help clean up my lungs a bit, at least. And hopefully be unfulfilling enough as an activity that I'll eventually quit altogether.

The jury is still out, (and will be for a while yet if the tobacco companies have their way) on the "benefits" of e-cigs, but we can be reasonably certain that they are a shitload safer than the traditional sort.

Surprisingly, they are quite satisfying, and you can take as many, or as few, drags as you want.

I shall puff my clouds until someone tells me otherwise, I think - then plead ignorance

I am paying 80,000 VND for a carton of Marlboro Lights in the Socialist Republic, about 130 THB, same price as a pack in Thailand now, as strange as it may sound it is cheaper to smoke real tabs over here than it is to vape.

I've been living in places with the same nearly-free cigs for years now - I might quit in New York or Europe, but as long as they are nearly free, price doesn't come into it. It's the free cancer they are rumored to give that gets me worried, plus other health issues... yellow teeth... cigarette smell in my clothes. But hey, they also give me four minutes by myself 20 times a day, which sometimes feels worth whatever price I pay - nothing like a cloud of smoke to keep unwanted people at bay...

OMG I am so outdated last time I was in the UK some 3 years ago it was £8.40 for a pack of Malboro Light now it is £9.60

£9.60 is about 320,000 VND or the cost of 4 Cartons, jeezus wept more than one months supply of smokes for me costs the same as a pack in the UK, how on earth can people afford to smoke back in old Blighty.

In one of the last bastions of smokers freedom here, smoking in the office / in meetings is still allowed same as all bars and restaurants
