  1. That 56 deaths from laborers and outdoor activities must be just the tip of the iceberg... if healthy working laborers are dropping dead on the job, that's fucked up... Normally the deaths in heat are elderly being nudged a bit more quickly than expected towards the final exit, not workers on the job! So, if there's a bad smell coming out of the neighbor's apartment where the old lady lives, someone should take a look...
  2. Jesus, man. You should have tried a doctor, maybe even just a vet. Home surgery with a table knife is only rarely recommended...
  3. They're gonna find that Malaysian Air flight eventually...
  4. People I Know. Al Pacino, Kim Basinger, Tea Leoni. Meh.
  5. Christ, seems I fucked up by starting out with the cheap whores to begin with. Wish I'd been more forward-thinking with my strategy 20 years ago, I'm stick fucking the same brand of whores - well, I guess that's the benefit, I haven't had to economize on them, at least.
  6. I'd like to see a collection of my back-of-arrivals-card entries over the years - don't think I've ever been the same guy from the same place making the same money twice... They never seemed to bother with those, but I've had a few times where people were sent back from the imm desk to go check some boxes on the back of the card. Guess there were quotas in place that week. Wonder what the Immigration folks would come up with as a profile for the average farang who identifies Thai360 as one of his frequent online hangouts...
  7. That was poorly thought through, that flaming bush biz. And an armed cop on hand doesn't have sense to handle the issue, no fire extinguisher, no nothin'. Duh. I've had a couple girls who would have benefited from an anti-crab kerosene bath down there, but strictly in a no-smoking environment...
  8. When I'm in Bangkok, my money too goes very far indeed, some of it even reaching Sisaket, Ubon, Nong Khai and other far-flung spots...
  9. When I was living in Laos upcountry about 15 years ago, myself and my farang colleague - the only farangs in the provincial capital - fled town to Thailand for the holiday week, it was just too much to take in Laos. Early morning kids knocking on the door with invitations to start the drinking, and as the only foreigners there was no end and no refuge from the celebration - went to Chiang Mai to be able to do the Songkran thing at our own pace... But right - it wasn't the disrespectful water and powder like in Thailand, just the all-day-long drinking... and I'm an all day long drinker (or was...), but just couldn't take days of it in my workplace...
  10. And with a lot more editing, it might actually be readable...
  11. Not even if you're Mr. Nice...
  12. No shit? Well, there you go. You can't take it with you, they say.
  13. Anyone checked the blowjob bars? I figure it's reasonably common for some extremist villain to end up losing his commitment to the cause after a few visits to some of the more notorious bars... Those girls may just save us from the terrorists after all...
  14. Or the DR hasn't figured out how to get rid of the boyfriend properly, as Thais have...
  15. If his wife has been making trouble for him and not fulfilling his sexual needs, I'm gonna guess something around 200 baht tea money. A man has needs... police are sympathetic to that, I'm sure.
  16. And I thought I was a pig for my behavior on soi Cowboy! I'm feeling much better about myself, having seen the prawn video.
  17. Oh, come on radioman - works for North Korea! They wouldn't be where they are today without a military-model citizenry following orders...
  18. Why would they have set up a demonstration like that, in the open air, with some mysterious burning liquid as the target? Is the Forest Service or a golf course looking for outdoors fire extinguishers? Odd. And redicilous.
  19. They take a look at the constitution, and reduce free education? Jay-zus. I guess they are being honest, in a way: an educated population will make the choices that they don't want them to make, and so should be avoided - even if it means that overall the product and wellbeing of the nation and its citizens is reduced. I guess power pays big enough dividends that the price is an easy one to pay.
  20. I've dropped in numerous mornings and afternoons over the past couple years. There was a period where they had to take you out of the bar to a reserved ST room due to junta, but now all seems back to 'normal' - if normal is a term that can even remotely apply. Love the place.
  21. Good lord. Ridiculous. And tragic for the dead and their families.
  22. Ask the taxi drivers up there - they know everything, and the best way to get there. There's no meter - but that's because you don't have to pay; it's heaven. Unfortunately in the places I usually live there is no Thai Yonok, the taxi drivers are bastards who don't know where you want to go or how to get there, and the meter is irrelevant because their fucking you anyway. At least Bangkok is one step closer to heaven - the meters work, except on Silom at bar-close.
