  1. I expect, that most, will see my occasional references to Nazism and the USA as, over the top commentary from the hard left. I am quite concerned about this phenomenon, and I'm not inflating it, or scaremongering. The last thing the world needs is a USA with more hard right. Anyway, some evidence: Reported on MSNBC and others... 2. And in the same vein of "Sometimes a B- movie is just so god damn awful, it's enjoyable as an example of it's kind." 2 Graves in the Desert 2020 This turned out to be so good, IMHO, as to warrant the removal of the B-movie label. Quite an extraordinary movie, because, but for a precious few scenes, it is shot entirely inside the back of a pick-up (Ute for us down here), with a locked lid. The two people, so detained, giving great performances. The name stars, Michael Madsen and William Baldwin, (not in the back) are good and I can see why they did this movie, a difficult thing to make, given that "shot entirely inside the back of a pick-up", and a challenging thing, to pull off. I enjoyed it a lot. Well worth a watch
  3. Sometimes a B- movie is just so god damn awful, it's enjoyable as an example of it's kind. you know, like MacDonalds serving it's offerings, in what they call a "restaurant", or as reality notes, a tile floored room with wipe clean, park furniture and a take-out outlet at one end. Guns of Eden 2022 I think they were taking the piss with this one, particularly when ... groups were being given team names (later in the movie, tiny spoiler) Four weekend campers are hunted by an armed militia... Alexandra Faye Sadeghian plays the lead, promising performance, particularly in the chest area. And if you've always wanted a gatling gun in the back of yer pick up, say no more...
  4. Rabbit Hole 2023 tv series I just saw the pilot and it looks to be a very good 8 part series. Donald Sutherland's boy, Kiefer, older now, turns out a very good performance, I'm looking forward to the rest. Modern day, Spy-ish story, no spoilers...

I feel the same about Kiwi and Aussie Humour, whilst here is some good stuff, the most of it is not. It must the the perversity of home advantage.... Humour ranked in order of excellence: 1. British 2. 2.5. American 3. Stryne 4. Kiwi 9. Russian
  7. When I was 30 I was still young and naive Your good self may have had a different mileage
  8. "That photo seems to be from another bar Coss???" yes, just a photo that popped up and made me remember why I used to sit outside the Irish bar. The elves would congregate, as we all know, outside the other bars, and entice naiive young men like me inside fo entertainment purposes
  9. I think I spent so much time there, because when the evening came, the elfs, came out to play.
  10. The Irish pub, my earliest memories of Cowboy. I don’t know why, but the Irish Pub was my afternoon, 'beer and cigs' out front, go to, when ever I was in LOS. It was there, I learnt that Dancing Shrimp, were usually caught in the nearest drainage ditch or Klong and that the subsequent intestinal evacuations, were their fault. Early ‘90s I believe, though at ~30 yrs ago, not much is left in the memory buckets. Another, just 'round the corner on Sukhumvit Soi 23, heading back to Sukhumvit proper, was a little Tourist restaurant, I often dined in. Duck Tongues, delicious. On two occasions I ate there, just before my flight to Phnom Penh and on arrival in Cambodia, you guessed it, explosive intestinal evacuations. Watch for my next book, Coss Wibble’s Travels - a journey of explosive intestinal evacuations across South East Asia… I jest. You may have seen this posted elsewhere - ...raises index finger, taps nose 3 times...
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I had that data I could release it anywhere, whether or not my own website was blocked? "The minister said the data might have been stolen from the public or private sector and contained no sensitive information such as medical records." So he's seen the data set then? Is it him?
  12. The government on Friday ordered internet service providers to block access to a website that threatened to reveal personal data of 55 million Thai citizens. A hacker, who goes by the pseudonym of 9Near, said on their website they would release all the data to the public, as well as exposing the name of the government agency the data was stolen from and its security vulnerabilities, unless the agency reaches out to them by next Wednesday. “Almost election, decide wisely,” the now-blocked website wrote. “We are not kidding.” Digital economy minister Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn said he does not believe the threat is credible and ordered authorities to arrest the hacker. “No government agencies would have that much data since 55 million is almost the entire population,” Chaiwut said. “We are investigating where the data breach happened and how much data was leaked. We believe the hacker is someone living in Thailand and we will swiftly track them down.” The minister said the data might have been stolen from the public or private sector and contained no sensitive information such as medical records. NameSilo, a U.S.-based web hosting service, and Thai internet service providers were also instructed to block access to the website, he said, which is now inaccessible to most internet users in Thailand as of Friday evening. Users who attempted to access the website would be redirected to a government notice saying the content has been suspended due to cybercrimes. The leak was discovered on Mar. 15 by cybersecurity page ExploitWareLabs, who posted a screenshot of a post by 9Near on Breach Forum, where they put on sale personal records of 55 million Thai citizens containing ID numbers, dates of birth, addresses, and phone numbers obtained “somewhere in government.” The hacker, whose profile picture features an orange inverted triangle resembling the logo of the Move Forward Party, listed no price on the post, but potential buyers could choose to buy the whole dataset, partial dataset, or even data on a specific person in cryptocurrency. Several TV personalities such as celeb news reader Sorayuth Suthassanachinda and Thairath TV anchorman Phakphoom Phansatit also reported Thursday they had received a SMS containing their personal information and a link to 9Near’s website. Digital economy minister Chaiwut warned those who illegally break into computer systems and access protected data are punishable under the Computer Crime Act and Personal Data Protection Act. The former carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/2023/04/01/govt-blocks-website-that-threatens-to-leak-personal-data-of-55-million-thais/
  13. The Hitler Home Movies 2023 Documentary 39 mins Once over lightly, little historical account, of Hitler's time in power. Remarkable for the home movies, now restored and presumably colorised. Eva Braun was a photographer's assistant when he met her and her hobby of photography and movies enabled this telling and fascinating imagery. I found this really interesting. Like many, I am too young to know much about this time in history, indeed my parents were born about that time. Also I thought, that if they ever make, a "Hitler - the movie", that David Brent would be the ideal actor to play Hitler, if he sharpened up his acting skills. Can't rate this, but I recommend it for knowledge's sake. And as far as Hitler moustaches go, Hitler's moustache, wasn't a very good one. And on a related matter, if you like podcasts, listen to Rachel Maddow's "Ultra", to see how close the Nazi's got, to potential power in the USA.
  14. And then of course there's Auckland which has all the flavours. I know a family of Tahitian/Maori who are very good looking.
  15. Directed Schadenfreude ...a feeling of pleasure or satisfaction when something bad happens to someone in particular. And now it starts, my only question is: will there be a trickle, a stream, or a deluge of charges?, all over the land... What you need to know Former President Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case. It marks the first time in US history that a current or former president will face criminal charges. Trump is expected to appear in court Tuesday for his arraignment, multiple sources tell CNN. Trump released a defiant statement, calling it "Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history." The Manhattan district attorney's office has been investigating Trump in connection with his alleged role in a hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. I think the usual news sources, will cover this better than a few happy posts here.
  16. The Night Agent TV Series 2023 Low-level FBI agent, Peter Sutherland, works in the basement of the White House manning a phone that never rings--until the night it does--propelling him into a conspiracy that leads all the way to the Oval Office. Normally a plot for a 90 minute movie, but spun out with good writing and acting, I enjoyed this. I declare an interest, the gorgeous Luciane Buchanan the female lead is Tongan/Scottish and from Auckland here. Somone once asked on this board, what Pacific Island women were like and the reply was, Jonah Lomu in a dress, well Luciane is not that, she's very pretty and typical of the Pacifika ladies found here. Well worth a look - 4 stars
  17. A Spy Among Friends TV Mini Series 2022 In England in 1963, Nicholas Elliott works for MI6 but is left in turmoil when he learns his close friend and colleague Kim Philby had been secretly working as a double agent for the KGB and has defected to the Soviet Union. Enjoyable telling of - presumably - what happened after the Profumo scandal
