    Nong Khai Bars

I second that, I've never been but will be doing so in the near future, I'd like the skinny on any bars too, I know there are some, NG tells me so but he's not been on board for a while...
  2. There must be some - but then I'm the wrong person to ask - I only go there for the hookers.

    Any New Jokes

    Thank you, I enjoy.
  5. My cop friend tells me that NZ Police policy is that, "In any domestic incident" lock up the man, no matter what happened or who's at fault. Practically, this is so the woman can look after any kids etc and to separate the couple. But fairness? there ain't no f*@%&n fairness!
  6. I raised my eyebrow at an old lesbian masquerading as a hostess on an AirNZ flight once, only to find out that she was a hostess, and I got no more drinks on that flight.
  7. To get away from Crime Stats, here's a post about something else. The further denigration of the male gender by western women, in this case USA women, so posted here in the USA thread. I was watching "This Week With Christiane Amanpour" a current affairs program. And the circle of women were actively discussing the bad decisions men made (any decision) and they used this phrase, "There are a bunch of men together with all the testosterone flowing making bad decisions". This is International TV. If any man had said "There are a bunch of women together with all the oestrogen flowing making bad decisions". They would be lynched, at least they'd be pilloried. And they wonder why men are either wimps or uninterested.
  8. That distinction (freedom) is being slowly (and lately not so slow) being eroded. We may end up less free and more violent. So' date=' would we say a higher crime rate is the price of freedom? [/quote'] I think so, look at Japan and Singapore, very restrictive regarding personal freedoms, less crime.
  9. " America would still lead the industrialized world in crime rate...by a significant portion." Also leads the world in Personal Freedom.
  10. Not specifically commenting on your post Steve, three things here in NZ are pertinent. My mate whose SAS, ADS and police background impresses me, told me three things about NZ, in regard to the 100 shots into the car as related above. 1. if all the officers fire and several bullets could be the "one" that killed the suspect, then no "one" officer will wind up in court and have his career ruined. 2. a lot of the time, here in NZ, a very small country, the cops invariably know the suspect is very likely who they've been looking for, so much so that, police chases are routinely abandoned, they just pick the guy up the next day or week or month. 3. and I agree with you about race, the sad thing is that a disproportionate number of Maori are law breakers, that's why pro rata, more are arrested. BTW (for the avoidance of doubt) my mate is Maori. An interesting side note: If one considers the argument that a certain minority is discriminated against because their prison population is higher - pro rata, then why doesn't that argument work for women? If they are 50% of the population, why are they not 50 % of the prison population? (tongue in cheek).

  12. Herein the origin of the phrase "truth by popularity", Popularity is the overriding factor in Google's algorithms.

  14. Elephant White ""The highlight of this film is Kevin Bacon's accent. He plays 'Jimmy the Brit' just so everyone knows he's supposed to be British (not an Aussie). His accent is a cross between Jason Statham and Dick Van Dyke with a good dollop of Ramsey-esque swearing thrown in. Djimon Hounsou plays 'Curtie Church' (seriously) a troubled, spiritual mercenary with a conscience (Steven Seagal must have been unavailable). He has little to do in the film apart from shooting, slicing and generally rolling around an ever increasing number of bad guys. The characters are all stereotypical, the script is lazy ("You're dark, and I don't mean your skin tone...") and the action scenes are bland, boring and forgettable."" stereotypical yes - all hookers are gang raped and heroin addicts a reasonable attempt at Thai ghosts though
  15. I haven't seen this, but "Aussie sex film shocks at Cannes" looks like it's making waves at Cannes .... Link
  16. Love and other Drugs, were it not for Anne Hathaway's nudity, an unremarkable chick flick. But the nudity saves it, quite a lot of times, enough to make me watch the chick flick all the way through. num num.
