Wiseone
But no, it is on the second floor. You know the floor above ground floor :: From the boys book of useful facts - Chapter viii (How to climb stairs) Ground Floor - (on the ground at street level) Ground Floor + 1 = 1st Floor Ground Floor +2 = 1st Floor +1 = 2nd Floor ::
samak
in LOS that's different ground floor = 1. floor (chan nueng) ground floor +1 = 2. floor (chan song) if you need another example, let me know!
Old Hippie
Not sure about your country, but in the USA, the ground floor has well, a FLOOR thus, it is the first floor! Though I have heard people say "first floor up," when refering to the second floor...
Big Kev
There is a place right on Walking Street that is called "Freelancers Bar". I've only been there once, and that was for about two minutes without even ordering a beer. So, I can't speak from experience, but name would sure suggest that it is a place where freelancers can be found. Anyone know differently?
june11
The name is a lie, because there actually are no freelancers there.
jacko
Come-on, we have had multi storey buildings whilst your place was all swamp and wigwams! But interesting thought, maybe our ground level was 'ground' or dirt, and upward of that you only encountered floors. Hence first 'floor'. But I would like to think we could argue more stimulating subjects.
Old Hippie
"...But I would like to think we could argue more stimulating subjects..." Doubt it, I am pretty dim witted at times! :: :: :: June 11, are you saying you have never had them accept your lance freely? I have had many girls EXCEPT my lance freely! ZMAN Z28
"...But I would like to think we could argue more stimulating subjects..." Why do you have to dial a zero before the number while calling inside LOS, but you do not when calling from overseas? ZMAN sorry I guess that was for Jacko. hehe
Old Hippie
Wow, heavy man! Now this is the type of question we should be discussing...
jacko
That question also applies to the UK doesn't it? At least it is not as complicated as in the USA!
