A short report from this amazonian "end of the line" city, still out of the beaten tracks, small yet very pleasant and busy ; when you're here you have this pleasant feeling to have travelled deep. Foreigners are very fews and gringo-attraction very high : I never got so many smiles and signs of interest from regular girls anywhere else in Brasil. Nightlife is good ; even on weekdays, the party goes strong in the open airs musical bars on the river -the rio Madeira-, as in the forro "discos" (enormous, crowded and cheap live music places). All of the places in town are cheap, simple, unpretentious, and crowded with girls, half of them butt-ugly, short and unattractives dragons, and the other half good-looking, rounded-assed, tall and thin indian-blended amazonian beauties with beautiful faces ; most seems very approchables for a gringo, that's where I met Pocahontas. There's always anyway, like anywhere else in Brasil, some freelancers/semi pros/occasionnals in the crowd. Earlier this week I made one of the few sleazy strip clubs (there's some dingy brothels that I didn't visit yet) : around 20/25 girls in the joint, most 3/4s but also some solid 7/8s, cheap beer, drunken locals ; lap-dancing, done usually in some darker parts of the joints, cost only 25 reals (7?) ; on Wednesday I took one 8 for a nude table-dancing/french-kissing/pussy-eating/ass-spanking (light !!), before taking her back to the hotel (50 reals/14 ? overnight) ...... nice girl and wild sex ..... To relax a bit, I leave this morning with Pocahontas to a nearby village down on the river, highly popular on weekends, with some beaches, waterfalls, open-air restaurants/bars/forro discos and cheap bungalows : life is good and so simple here ..... Just back from the first trip, unfortunately mostly business, but did manage a couple of good evenings. Your comments about downtown / Centro were useful, our office is there, so after a very late day we just hung around. Well worth it. Agree with your comments on Help & Barbarelas - the latter is still worth a visit, still some stunning scenery, but Help is truly lousy. Porto Velho is pleasant, really cheap, has a lot of regular bars and discos, and it's easy to pickup regular girls ; I think that the cities of the northern and western amazonia like Belem, Porto Velho, Macapa, Rio Branco, etc..., are in many ways different from the rest of Brasil (yet Sao Luis has the same kind of atmosphere) : not really mongering destinations, but places where you do not need to 'find' or 'search' for girls, they come to you. It's true that there's less attractives girlies than in SP or southern Brasil, but there's also a lot of indian-blended stunning beauties, tall and thin, with faces simply beautiful (9s and even 10s on my scale), friendly, simple, easy-going and easily approchables. Anyway ...... Rio Branco has also plenty nice girls both on the street and the local bars. Like in Porto Velho, portugese is a must, there's few, if none, english speakers. The city has a good number of universities and the nightlife seems good with many regular "discos" (forro places). I'll check tonight. The walking streets in the evening are busy with small beerplaces and with girls walking around obviously looking for action. The pros on the street charges around 50 reals/15? overnight, I didn't try, just asked for prices. Gringo-attraction seems very high here also and regular girls interested to meet foreigners. Life is outrageously cheap (long-neck beer is 2 reals/0.5 ? in the girlies bars near the river !!), and as in other amazonian cities, all here seems to be about drinking, dancing and getting laid, my kind of place ! :: Will be in Sao Paulo next week, to end the trip with "panache" ..... Prosal Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Share Posted March 17, 2005 Follies Downtown, Leblon, Humaita and Barra de Tijuca are currently the best areas to party in Rio ..... yet once more don't hesitate to cross the bay to Niteroi, the ferries leave just from Praca XV in Centro : there's in Niteroi (mostly on Icarai beach) lot of bars and discos like Piratas, Acropole, Touché, where there's tons of sexy and easygoing girls. A good scene indeed, just dress simply and have no valuables. If you're really adventurous and if you want to mix with the poor brasilian population, drink for cheap, flirt and dance in a rough environment way out of the gringos tracks, just take a bus from the northern bus terminal just behind the central train station "Central do Brasil" to any suburb city like Duque de Caxias or Nova Iguacu, and hit a Baile Funk (funk parties, main hangout for poor people and favelados/das). Few years ago, I spent a lot of time in Duque de Caxias, because of a girl with who I was deeply in love and who lived there, yet it's quite rough, go to Rio's north suburbs only if you're as stupid as I am :: ! Since one week in town, I've stretched 19 garotas : NONE of them below 8, all of them nice girls and fabulous performers, most of them from Bomboa, from Cafe Gauguin (my fav early-night headquarters), from some new luxious mansions with "Victoria Secret" quality models-types girlies (seems there's dozens which have opened since my last visit), from some accompanhantes sites, from the sleazy strip bars of rua Augusta/E.Pernesta and of course from the absolute craziest and best disco on the planet, Love Story, where ALL the girls (escorts, club garotas, MPs girlies, freelancers, occasionals, ect ..) get together to party at late-night without looking for paying customers, and that I hit daily from 3am (it opens at 2am) tilll 7am. :: :: Yet eveything has an end, back home tomorrow Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Most of the people in Salvador are of African origin, you can find here many beautiful black girls. Most foreigners stay either in Pelourinho (the old colonial center) or in Barra. Free-lances abound in both places but are often low quality and unsafe, especially in Pelourinho (a typical scam is to have you robbed by an accomplice after sex, when you're in trust of the girl). On monday I went to Casquinha de Siri, a Salvador institution, a place where you find many free-lances (mostly black) : quite a few beauties ! There's live music and dance. Prices are as follow : (1 Euro is 3.5 R$, Brazilian Real) 30R$ for the taxi, 15R$ couvert (entrance fee), 4R$ a beer (expensive), the girl should be around 100R$ (30 EUR)for a few hours, you should bring here to a motel. The main motel area "rua dos prazeres" (street of pleasures) is not far away. Motels are mandatory. They have names like Decameron, Kamasutra, Paradise etc. For 38 R$ you can stay 4 hrs in a luxury suite with round bed with mirrors, jacuzzi, special furniture for acrobatic positions, porn on tv, music. You may drink and eat as well, and buy sex toys. Casquinha is open mon-sat, monday is free-lance night. On other nights you find more regular prostitutes (safer according to taxi driver). Thanks for the report about Casquinha de Siri ; I've been in Salvador a few times, but with my argentina GF, so never had the oportunity to monger there. Going from Sofitel Itapua, where we usually stayed, to Pelourinho, I've often passed in front of this place and thought it was only a huge musical restaurant. BTW did you eat one of those fabulous lobster and crab 'moquecas' in Yemanja ? Cheers, have a good time. I go through a light depression to be here after those five weeks in Brasil. Next trip to SA will be to Colombia (Medellin, Pereira, Bucaramanga and Cali). Don't know when yet, a deep study on those sexy colombianas necessitate at least a two monthes stay.
