Straycat
One of the great advantages of Bangkok: Almost everything is available! I just can't bear to eat Thai everyday of the week and I often switch to 1) jap food and 2) italian. Two favourites of mine Too boring, pretty much same as your choice. jp1
I love sushi and Japanese food in general. So do I but my real favorite food is shabu-shabu. It's thinly cut Kobe beef with vegetables, some mushrooms, Chinese (or Thai) noodles and Tofu boiled in hot water and served with a delicious sauce made of crushed white sesame seeds, garlic, ginger and several other spices such as spring onions and chili. I could eat this forever. The best restaurant for this kind of food is the 'ZAKURO' chain of restaurants in Tokyo. Their sauce is unbeatable. khwaimaisabai
Hi limbo, I have grown to appreciate Thai food, but my best alternative would be decent British food. Top two dishes: Liver and bacon with onion gravy, mashed potatos and peas. This is available at the Londoner but was a bit undercooked - I don't like to eat red meat. Fish and chips, with mushy peas - Soi 23 establishment next to Offshore Bar is the best I have come across. Also, I like a good steak - best so far at Tony's Sydney Harbour Grill, Suk road around Soi 27 - 25 area. I dislike Japanese food, can tolerate Chinese and quite like Italian or French.
