Auricman
Point is, it's not cancer unless the cells are abnormal. Simple as that. Well, almost. But then there is PIN, not really called cancer, but maybe the precursor of cancer.Isn't getting old fun?

No, I sure don't, but hopefully there will be an opportunity to compare notes on the subject after we get there, wherever there is.

New Petchburi Pete
Ah! But let's not forget about the statistics. The incidence of prostate cancer in men is almost comparable to the incidence of breast cancer in women ... (BTW, men can develop breast cancer as well). ... one in 6, or is it approaching one in 5 ? Insist on a digital exam ... early detection is critical. Have any of you guys had a mammogram? ... I know a gent whose life was saved by a mastectomy! MrX
Hi NPP.... see you wrote "one in 6, or is it approaching one in 5 ?"(develop cancer of the prostrate).....seems a whisker high to me!
lembeh
>The incidence of prostate cancer in men is almost comparable to the incidence of breast cancer in women ... Sounds a bit too high to me. Prostate cancer is the 6th or so (depends upon country) common cancer in men, while breast cancer is the most common (again depends upon country) in women (leaving out lung cancer for the now). However, there is an old adage: More men die *with* prostate cancer than die *of* prostate cancer. -j-
