I have been living in Thailand now for 4 years and run my own little IT Company near the airport. I have also met the love of my life here in Thailand, and we have been together for almost 3,1/2 years now. She was a student when I met her and she recently gratuated from the University. She is a good and decent girl. It all started after my GF gratuated in April this year. I was saving up to buy a new car and my GF suggested she find a job to help me with the extra money, I aggreed and we started looking for a good job for her. Now my GF speaks fluent english (studied abroad for 5 years) and I wouldn't think it being a problem for her to find a good job. Now I do trust my GF and she never gave me any reason not to do soo. About 2 months ago she told me she had an Interview with an International Company who needed a Girl with good English skills to help translate at busines meetings. I wasn't really all to suspicious back then, my big mistake. A few days later she had the job interview, she came back, and was all silent. After a while she smiled and said she didn't accept because of the bad salary. I let the subject drop. The again a few days later, my GF told me she had to meet a friend and she would be back in the evening, again I did'nt get suspicious. Arround 7pm that night I got a call from my GF, she was crying and telling me to please pick her up from the sheraton hotel, she didn't say why, but I hurried there to see what was wrong. When I arrived she was sitting in the lobby sobbing. After I took her home she started to cry again, but also confessed. She told me that back in the interview the man in charge (a german) told her, that she had to work for him now, and go out with foreigners if her called her mobile. Offcourse she resisted, but he treated her apartently by saying he would hunt her down and her family if she refuses, as proof he held up a copy of her ID card and let a Thai Bully come in to confirm what he said in case she didn't understand his english. That day when she came home she was simply to embarressed to talk to me about it (WOMAN!!!!!!). Anyway that german guy calls her and tells her to meet this Taiwanese guy for lunch in the Sheraton, and then to show him arround the general Sathorn area. She would get 4,000 Baht for that day. She went there and met the guy, a fat little turd, which never really had any intention on touring. After a brief lunch he forced her up to his room, he also said that if she didn't obey he would thell the german guy. She said she cried a lot but went up with him. And for what happened next I am really greatfull, they guy most have gotten really bored of her, since she did not give in, he said he would call her boss and threw her out. It was then when she called me. Needless to see I was furious and on the verge of killing somebody. Me and my GF went to the Police after that and filed a report, they said this happens a lot, girls a trapped by theses scrupolous Pimps and thrown into prostitution that way. They are tricked by false promises and then given a rude awakening afterwards. And most of the girls are so afraid of the consequences that they obey and go out as ordered. Now in my case I got lucky, the guy never called again, but I did some research and found which escort service he & his partners run, its called "High Society" and they apartly have a pool of over 800 girls working for them. I actually called there under false identity and asked what kind of girls her could offer. I had to hang up as soon as he said, that he could send me over some 12-14 year old children. And to top things off, just 2 weeks ago my GF receives a postcard with a stamped message on it, saying. "Do you want to earn upto 150,000 Baht fulltime per month, and meet important international businesmen, with the chance to travel abroad. No special skills required, call Khun Radjada XXXXXXXX" My GF told me that all of her other ex-classmates from her senior year got the same mail. It seems as if now Escort Services are recruiting directly from the universities. I am sorry for complaining like this, but I wanted you all to know some of the cold true facts on Escort Services. But I wonder what happened after the police report. Is that arsehole German pimp still walking around free? Has he been called for questioning at all? I fear he has connections (read: pays plenty of bribes) and nothing will happen. Business as usual. There have been a lot of complaints from the Thai government lately about foreign criminals in the country; what these geniuses don't realise (or don't want to realise) is that it's Thailand's lawless environment which encourages criminals to come here in the first place. I'll bet that for every girl like your G/F, there are 100 who have nobody like you to go to. Let's hope all board members do their best to boycott this escort service and to "spread the word" wherever possible. Personally, I've got no time for anyone who uses these services anyway. Finding a BG is simple, a little more effort & research will get you a non B/G who, if treated well, will be happy to be seen with you anywhere in Thailand.... That's why willingness and friendliness is important when I choose someone while sanuking. Sad thing is, a few dollars to the right people and he may get to stay in business. Also if he has important clients the authorities wouldn't want to touch or be hesitant about. There are a number of other organizations that would be interested in his activities if the Thai authorities don't do anything. Especially since he's using underage girls. Your lady is a gem for going out to try and help with finances. Too bad she had to run into this stuff. I would like to confirm exactly what you are saying about these escort services recruiting college girls. I teach several classes part-time and also tutor a number of college students. This subject has come up in our discussions. It appears that there is indeed a major push going on to grab students for extra-curricular activities. My students said they were repulsed by participating in anything like this, but speaking from experience there is interest by a number of students in playing for pay. I think those students have made a decision to earn extra money for sex and are not always being coerced into it as in your case. It is just too bad that some guys like the one you mentioned in your experience have to get carried away with this with threats and violence. It is both laughable and disgusting, how the Thai "leaders" blame foreigners for the BS like this that goes down in their country. Any Thai that buys into that scapegoating line of crapola should be ashamed of his own pathetic stupidity. Thai justice is for sale, and a few of the customers happen to be foreigners. Does the root of the problem lie with foreign immorality or with Thai "justice?" Hmmmm. (Okay, fine....I am just going to say it: Thais who are that ignorant, can kiss my ass.) I bet a lot of the college girls are suckered in because they know of the money available in the sex industry but are afraid to work in a bar because of the potential exposure. Clearly the guy should be locked up but sadly, I too fear it will never happen.
