lembeh Posted January 9, 2005 Report Share Posted January 9, 2005 I understand what you are saying, and its certainly not a "minor crime" sadly however though, complete immunity is one of the cornerstones of diplomacy, and needs to be. Diplomats *have* to be inviolate. Sadly however, there will be abuses. The *only* thing the host country can do in these cases is to expel the diplomat. Obvioulsy a lot of pressure *can* (and probably was) applied to get diplomatic status removed, but if this fails? Expel is the only option. Geoff Huish, 26, was so convinced England would win Saturday's match he told fellow drinkers at a social club, "If Wales win I'll cut my balls off," the paper said. Friends at the club in Caerphilly, south Wales, thought he was joking. But after the game Huish went home, severed his testicles with a knife, and walked 200 yards back to the bar with the testicles to show the shocked drinkers what he had done. Huish was taken to hospital where he remained in serious condition, the paper said.
