gawguy
I want to put some photos into internet storage somewhere. They are photos of a gf and I that don't want to carry when I leave. They are legal, but the photos would be embarassing. What is a good website or service to use? I could set up an email acct somewhere for the purpose. I want to be as anonymous as possible. What is the best plan? Thanks GG
carlton68
Try yousendit This is a service to send big files to someone without limit of max email size or using ftp. They send a unique link to the email address you specify so only the recepient of the link may retrieve the data. By entering your own you email you just use it as storage while you are on your way home. They store data only up to 7 days (or 25 retrievals, whatever comes first) so if you upload the pics shortly before you leave you should have enough time to retrieve them when you come home. If you have several files (pics) you better put them into an archive so you only have to handle one file for upload/download, and if you're concerned with safety you may add a password to the archive as well. Think this is what you're looking for.
..
Carlton has a good one. If you use pix to post in forums, I like this one: http://www.photobucket.com It can be used for just storage as well. Cheers, SD
elef
Hi, the only disadvantage with photobucket is that pics bigger than 250 kb are resized under that limit. As most digital pics are around 1 mb you will loose a lot of pixels. elef
Stickman
How about getting a Gmail email account? They hold one gigabyte. If it is not that many pics, even Yahoo and Hotmail hold 250 MB. Stick
kamui
A very good and very easy to use site is www.flickr.com But they limit size and traffic as well, as long you don't pay. As long you only want to store the images for later printing and downloading I would recommend Gmail as well. I you want an Gmail account just drop me a pm. carlton68
Hi, I thought that gmail has a limit of 10 MB per mail, right? Then you'd still have to handle several emails if you have many pics. But very good for long time storage.
kamui
If you want to upload files from your own computer to Gmail you can use Gmail Drive Extension without sending an email.
carlton68
Right, I am not using it but I take it that it still stores the data in gmail as emails (sending them somehow to your inbox). So the max size limit must be in place. You use gmail drive extension? Try to store a file that is over 10 MB and let us know if it works, please.
