SiLeakHunt
Sorry to mention something so insignificant when there's people on this section going on about coronary stuff, but I've got a right itchy ringpiece. Anyone recomend any remedies that might alieviate my not inconsiderable suffering. cheers

Guest
Heck...it might even be pinworms! Really. And a simple diagnosis is to take some scotch tape and stick it on your bum...then look to see if there are any very small worms stuck to the tape. Also, really! Or...maybe one of those foot massage places will scratch your itch...for a few extra Baht.
Old Hippie
Sounds fatal to me... Could be "jock itch" try a tolnaftate cream 1% sold under various names. should work, and kill the itch fast. Might also be "anal fisures" or start of hemroids...but don't ask me to have a look please...

lembeh
>I've got my camera with me, could any of the more medically aware members provide a diagnosis if I posted a picture on the photo's section ? Well....in the spirit of helping....NO. However, these may be useful: http://www.gastromd.com/education/print_pruritisani.html http://www.colorectalsurgery.com.au/pruritis.htm http://www.julies-story.org/ano/pruritusani.htm Scratching aggravates *badly*, so try not to. Pay attention to the over cleaning, its important not to. You *really* are best advised to get it checked by a physician, however, given that a lot of people are a wee bit shy, search the web for "pruritis", which is the technical term for an "itchy ring piece". This *can* be maddening. One *very* common cause is just sweat. One "home remedy" that *can* (YMMV!!!) work is to take a single square of toilet paper fold it over, and stick it in the crack of your arse. This mops up the sweat, and can provide pretty drammatic relief in a day or so. If you can get hold of it, a VERY *thin* smear of a corticosteroid cream once a day may provide some relief (but ONLY use for one or two days, otherwise you can get additional problems). Resist the temptation to stick massive doses of "gloop" on it, as this can make it worse in the long run. However, as noted at the begining You *really* are best advised to get it checked by a physician. good luck, and don't scratch -j- (and don not *ever* threaten to send photo's of your ring again...LOL)
