Khun_Kong
Sayjann- If you suspect a case of Brown Fever may be imminent, best that they don't note your request to change the ticket in your PNR

Guest
your chance of getting standby mite depend on if you only have carry on bag, or checked bags. When I return to USA my last flight ( lax/san) is always booked a few hours later in the day. so far ( over 50 times) I have always been able to get standby on an earlier flight. last trip they were booked up on the last flight till the next day, I was lucky and still got on a flight within 2 hrs of clearing immigration. in the past year, going from bkk to hkt we had res for flight in the afternoon, but got there early and they asked us if we would like to go on the next flight ( about 1:20 hr) earlier than scheduled flight. sayjann : I hope you have time to post trip report ( while in phuket even better) get to rio bar during the day time, they have fast ( and free) internet access. ..
Soidoggy said:'Economy Reduced fare Tickets issued with a confirmed out bound and inbound date in the UK cannot be used as Standby. Only 'Open return' tickets can be used that way. WOW, sucks to be from the UK, eh? Even in the States one can do standby 99% of the time (checked bags CAN be an issue there, tho'). I certainly could not run my business without that option -- well, I could, but my prices would increase substantially! Cheers, SD
shygye
What fare class are your tickets? I know most EU airlines will not let you standby for international flights UNLESS you have a high fare class. Discount econo tickets just won't cut it. jirve77
I have just booked a flight with Eva Air and one of the options is that I can change the inward journey date at a cost of GBP25 and this is on a basic economy ticket. jirve
