I know there are a million and threads here on dentists but i made this separate so it would be easy to find. I am certain there many many here who would find the prices steep but for what i wanted it suited me needs perfectly and for me thats what counts. As i posted elsewhere i have not been to a dentist in 12 years and before that 7 years due to an extreme phobia of dentist. I no longer harbour this fear thanks to this hospital.

 

Any errors on this list either numerical or alphbetical are entirely my own, and prices are current as of 1 April 2005.

I think we can relatively safe say this is neither top nor buttom prices while I'd say bamrungrad is at top, BNH bit down & a large number of high quality smaller clinics very good value.

I've been using Dental Hospital for 3 years now for everything from routine cleaning/checkups to root canals and crowns. No complaints about the price and the service is excellent. Even enjoyed dating one of the cuties at the front desk for awhile.

 

Nice of you to post this list of charges. I didn't see the price of my next procedure - a dental implant. I believe they told me the total would be 55,000 baht which is great considering a favorable exchange rate now.

 

I would definitely recommend the Dental Hospital to anyone. The only complaint is that it is quite a bit deep in Soi 49, but if you take a taxi vs. BTS you will be fine.

I tool require a dental implant. I tried to PM you with my request but was unable to. Can the implant and crown be performed over a two-week stay in the LOS or would I require separate trips?

As I understand it here (In USA) it takes a few visits over a rew months. 1 remove the old tooth. Allow gums to heal, then amke an assessment, make the new tooth, intall some stuff in the bones, a temp tooth I think, then a while later, the actual implant goes in!... I don't think it can all be done at one time.. A root canal and a crown could be done in a week...

You're a regular fount of knowledge. I am being quoted $4000 for the implant. I figure if I go to LOS and have it done for $1300, then the rest will pay for a little action in the LOS. ::

OH has it right. Dental Hospital told me the whole process would take about 12 - 15 months assuming all goes well.

 

It is just like getting LASIK surgery here in the LOS - doable if you do not live here, but much better to be a resident for the follow-up visits, complications, adjustments, etc.

 

Yeah, sorry, I turned off PMs when the number of bizarre and f'upped requests that came to me just got to be too much.

This is what i received from the Dental Hospital when I inquired about an implant:

 

Thank you for your e-mail dated today.

 

I am pleased that you are interested in us to care for your dental needs. On your first visit you will have dental check up, panoramic x-ray and treatment planning at the Oral Diagnosis Department and will be referred to specialists for teeth cleaning, implant procedure and other dental treatment as necessary.

 

I would like to inform you the estimated cost of basic dental treatment as follows :

Oral Diagnosis Department

initial oral examination 200 Baht

panoramic x-ray 800 Baht

intraoral periapical x-ray 150 Baht

 

Periodontal Department

teeth cleaning or root planing per visit 1,500 Baht

*the heavy deposit plaque or gum diesease case will be need gum treatment more than one visit and longer period of time.

 

Operative Department

composite white filling one surface 1,000 Baht

composite white filling two surfaces 1,200 Baht

composite white filling three surfaces 1,400 Baht

composite white filling four surfaces 1,600 Baht

 

Cosmetic Department

laser whitening of vital teeth per visit 20,000 Baht

home bleaching 8,000-11,000 Baht

ceramic veneers per tooth 7,000 Baht

ceramic veneers(empress) per tooth 8,000 Baht

laminate veneers per tooth 5,000 Baht

 

Regarding teeth whitening procedure, the laser teeth whitening can change the tooth colour whiter at the first visit within 1 and a half hour, and cost 20,000 Baht pproximately. If patients need more tooth colour lighter or whiter, the home bleaching might be recommended. You can see detail of equipment, material and procedure in www.biolase.com.

 

For the special promotion, we will give 50% discount for patients who have laser teeth whitening one visit at cost 10,000 Baht with the latest laser instrument and material. However, the patients need to have check up, teeth cleaning before teeth bleaching.

 

The implant procedure which we use here is Branemark Implant System which is the most expensive implant system and the most popular in USA, the treatment steps are as below :

The first stage:

the placement of the titanium implants will start after tooth extracted approximately 4 months for complete bone healing or it may start immediately after tooth extraction. The implant will remain covered underneath the gum for approximately 4 to 8 months. During the time, osseointegration should take place.The period of treatment should be1-2 weeks

 

The second stage:

the procedure involves uncovering the implants and attaching extensions. This completes the foundation on which your new teeth will be replaced. The period of treatment should be1-2 weeks.

 

The final stage:

the placement of your new teeth. With techniques that ensure optimal size, color and fit, this replacement tooth will blend with your facial characteristics and remaining natural teeth. It will take about 1-2 weeks to finish this step.

 

The implant may be not able to fix in every places in jaw bone or not everyone can have it. The addition treatment as bone graft may be required.

 

The estimated cost of single tooth implant included a crown is 120,000 Baht/tooth approximately (surgical procedure, implant fixture, healing cap, abutment connection, gold screw, prosthetic component, crown porcelain with high precious metal). The individual fixture may use sometimes to be abutment of bridge work or removable denture or complete denture for any reasons and the cost becomes less due to the number of fixtures.
