Ex pats - do you take bg's to your home?

Absolutely not for a variety of reasons. I will list two. First, when I first moved here, lived in a nice serviced apartment and was less careful, I had a problem with a drunk and otherwise very intoxicated BG banging on my apartment door at 3 am - no idea how she got past the guards, but she did. I am sure that "impressed" my neighbors. Second, I know many of the other people in my condo building professionally - that alone is a good enough reason.

My solution: A few years back, before condo prices sky rocketed, I made an "investment" in a second, less expensive condo conveniently located in the lower Sois of Sukhumvit. The condo is worth substantially more now, and the peace of mind it has provided is priceless.

This made be laugh - its exactly the situation a very good mate of mine is in except he never seems to learn his lesson. He lives in one of the most expensive condo buildings in BKK and frequently takes girls back to his apt. He has recounted numerous tales of when on occassions, he has had to escort girls out that seem to be velcro'd to his apartment and as he goes down in the lift with the BG in the morning, the lift invariably stops on the way down (its a very high floor he is on) and in steps some professional acquaintance of his or some well to do Thai couple with their kids on the way to school and/or work.

A lesson well learnt and what an ideal solution.

Another idea might be to put up a couple of pictures of some farang women and tell the BG its your wife, but she is staying away, although then you might have to go to the trouble of getting an entire wardrobe of farang size ladies clothes and cosmetics, soaps and the rest of the baggage that women take around with them to really carry it off. Would certainly made clear its a business arrangement as far as your concerned - heck could even put a couple of pictures of some kids as well ::

Cheers

Gadfly, i think both KS and yourself raise relevant points. Things where very different 8 years ago or so (but i'd better not get into my thoughts on how the p4p scene has changed for the worse!) I must say when i was single i took girls back, especially if i knew them a bit. But when i lived in Thailand i did'nt work in Bangkok and so this was'nt a problem. However i agree with you that if you conduct business in Bangkok it can be unwise and best to go the short time hotel route or as in your case a second "investment" apartment if that is within someones budget? If i remember one poster did mention married guys taking girls back? Now that really is a bad idea!!!!

Simie.

Yes, I always take the girl home and I have never had a problem with girls banging on the door or just turning up.

I think a lot of it is how you treat the girl. If you give her too mut baht and tell her you love her too mut they get the wrong impression. ( and yes I do realise there is the crazy one out there who will do that anyway)

The other factor is maybe where you live. If you live in a 50K+ a month apartment they maybe think "JACKPOT" and cling much harder.

In the morning, I just open the door, give them a kiss, a slap on the bum and give them directions to the BTS or motosai, escorting them out is just silly - as the guy in the lift discovered.

Oh yes, I am single :)

This only applies to the clingers for him - he has many problems getting some of them to leave and as his floor has 4 different condo entrances, he elects to take them down the lift as the lesser of two evils. Shame it always backfires for him, but he is a popular guy with an apt that would rent for about 150,000 baht month so you can understand the little princess thinking she has hit the jackpot - particularly as he only takes young looking newbies who no doubt have yet to learn the reality of the game they are working in. This guy is a prime candidate for Gladfly's solution.

No way I would ever let a BG know where I live or my full name. Sure, there could be no problem. But what if there is? Best to avoid the whole thing.

For LT, I book a room at nana Hotel or even pay all-night rate for ST hotel. And I enjoy the sleazy feel of an ST hotel with a BG sitting on my face.

No, too many things COULD go wrong. Protect your privacy, that's the number one rule in Asia, with BGs or otherwise.

I have personally seen several self-induced clingers. One guy in my building chatted up a Emporium clerk. Treated her nicely, but were to spineless to tell her when he got bored of her. Instructed the guards down stairs to always say he was not home. The poor girl turned out numerous times before she gave up... Seems much like the airport guy to me.

Another guy I know often complain about how many time girls call him and how little he care. I've seen his modus of operandi, and either he don't pick up the phone, or he give elusive answeres. No wonder they keep calling... It really seems to be a power kick for him to keep the girls waiting.

So what, you can bet your life they're shagging BG's as well.
You're probably right, but then they would never admit this is front of their wives, other professional acquaintances or upper middle class Thais, would they? I live here, and need to be practical. This is the land of double standards, which is why I have two condos in Bangkok.
