top end (also re prices) are New York Steakhouse in JW Marriott, Madison in Four Seasons, Hamilton's in Dusit Thani, California in Plaza Athenee, all in 5 star hotels.

a bit less pricey but still very good are Park Avenue (chidlom), Bourbon Street (washington square) and its sister venue Courtyard (soi tonson), Neil's Tavern (Asoke and Soi Ruam Rudee), El Gaucho (Asoke) and Rib Room in Landmark. very good quality for reasonable prices in Kobe Steakhouse at Siam Square.

then there are also Outback (Siam Discovery), Tony Roma's, Chokechai Steakhouse (Suk Soi 23), Sizzlers with many branches and even Steak Lao (Suk Soi 39 at Petchburi end)

just noted that Courtyard, the sister venue of Bourbon Street is gone! after seems that Dough is focusing on his well established core venu on Washington Square after he had also for a short time a small branch on Suk Soi 49 some years ago.

the restaurant scene in Bangkok is changing very fast.

"...Made a promise to Burma Girl I'd give up cow. .."

"...But this buffalo, not same same cow..." :) or "...this not same Thai cow..." :) Might work!

I have a $100 gift certificate for Marriot, supposedly good in BKK, at the steak house...what does dinner for 2 runin there, with no wine, or cocktails? Basically, will $100 cover it?
