I believe all tourist visas issued from the U.S. Embassy are valid for unlimited entries for the duration of the visa.

BTW, if you try to call the Visa Section at the U.S. Embassy on Wireless Road, it's a bust ... no more questions answered on the phone (although that may only apply for Immigrant visas, not tourist visas, so try: 02 - 205 - 5048), and they did away with their walk-in question booth. They'll try to refer you to their website which may or may not answer that question.

If you can't get an answer on the phone, you can email your question to them (Embassy) at: visasbkk@state.gov or you might be able to get a direct answer on the phone by bypassing the Embassy and calling U.S. Immigration & Homeland Security, also on Wireless Rd. Their phone number is: 02 - 205 - 5352. They are located across the street from ACS & the Visa Section of the Embassy in the Sindhorn Building, Tower 2, 15th floor ... open to public from 8-11:30am.

BTW, the application for the tourist visa which can now be filled out online is available on the INS & Homeland Security main website. Follow the instructions for the photos (ears must show, etc.) to the "T." Then, you must bring the completed application, photos & 4000 Bt. fee (must pay at a Post Office in BKK & bring receipt) to the Visa section and pay another 700 Bt. for a barcode that goes onto the application. Then they'll give you a date for an interview.

To get the application approved, your wife must present compelling reason(s) during the interview (I recommend attaching a detailed letter to the applicatin when submitted), such as documentation from her employment, bank account(s), proof of ownership of your home, etc. (the more proof the better) that would demonstrate that your she will be returning to Thailand.

BTW, why not visit Boston on the way ... from NYC to Canada? If you've never visited Bean Towne, you would not be disappointed; and, shopping is easier and just as good ... and perhaps would save money. You can take a train (4-5 hrs.) from Grand Central Station.

Boston to NYC....a cheap fare is a bus from Boston to NYC for $15 or NYC to Boston for the same amount. Very popular with the student set as there are lines waiting to board. It used to be $10 a trip but somehow it was raised to $15 one way but still inexpensive. The bus from NYC leaves from NY's Chinatown to Boston bus terminal.
