But does ni-yom stand on it's own (in the usage above)? Doesn't it need qualifiers (for lack of a better term) like yot, rot, kwaam, kaa or bpen-tee to really mean "popular?"

grammar focused minds like you Tiger invent linguistic problems in Thai where there are none.

why not take an adjective as a name? i have also come across other restaurants with adjetives as names such as Aroy Maag, Sutyort etc.

and after all there are also bars like nice & eazy, happy etc. etc.
