unit731
We took the minibus. 2,500 baht. Stopped along the way and we were in Thai wine country. Purchased some nice red and white Thai wine. Very good. Just as good as the Belgium wines of Brabant.

cavanami
Yes, please details on the minibus. Where did you start the journey? Ekkamai? 2500 Baht for a minibus sounds high? Wine info (names)...
drogon
2500 bht for minibus...... paid 2k bht for a taxi last year. Maybe the 2500 bht is the fare for both ways?
Old Hippie
Mini Van with a group, should cost about 6-800 bhyt each, charter might run 2-2.5K...took a car a few years back, it was 1800 one way, for 4 people, and we stopped along the way. Last time, Mrs. Hippie #2 and I drove in her car. Really nice trip, frequent stops for sights!
drogon
As you stopped for sights, do you know where the wineyards are? please me want wine and so could drop the idea of taking the plane (and the lady likes wine too...)
thalenoi
First flight with gf was bkk-chumpon, scared the hell out of gf, refused to get into an other plane for a long time, was a small crappy 18 seater....
drogon
Same with my ex-gf when I was working in Africa.... She was totally terrified, maybe because I was allowed the co-pilot seat...... :: Got my answer for the flights, they really exist and are safe. Old Hippie
I would make her first flight in a more comfortable and secure plane...but then she might like the adventure...as fior the vineyards, no, sorry, no info. Maybe try here... http://www.tatgovernor.com/stories.aspx?id=32 http://www.google.com/search?hs=B7S&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&q=Thai+wine+country&btnG=Search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&q=Thai+wine+production&btnG=Search But most seem to reference Nakhon Ratchsima (Korat)...maybe someone has first hand knowledge...?
