This generally means they understand what is what culturally and can put the time in as required. Tourists generally do not qualify. I think that ruining Thai people's opinions of farangs for no real reason is just stupid. YMMV (but should it?). Hey, no one need listen to me. It is just advice from making mistakes in the past that I wish to share. Do what you want, just do not bitch when it all goes pear-shaped!
