TheDoctor
"KING PRAWN THE CHAMPAGNE PERVERT, DOES THE PERP WALK, THEN THE MOONWALK." The power of the United States indeed, mates. "What enormous balls. If only they were brains." BTW, anyone else find it disturbingly ironic that this nut-nut is on the street and not in a heavily secured psych ward? Guy Himmaparn
I bet tomarrow California WILL want him , all the pressure will be on the DA to grab him , I'd also be surprised if the local DA didn't go after this fugitive, if for no other reason than to grab a bit of the limelight for a while. Julian2
They should have tatooed "WANKER" on the guy's forehead before releasing him.
Guy Himmaparn
He's not going anywhere for the time being... just not being charged with murder. Local sources maintain that he will be back in CA by the second week in September to face the music here.

shygye
At most he would serve a few months for child porn. Most likely for a first offence he would get zero jail time or time served.
OCgringo
but "failure to appear" is a bigger charge then the child porn , and easy to prove..... OC

Guy Himmaparn
Here's the latest on Karr from our local rag: SONOMA COUNTY SHERIFF SEEKS PROSECUTION By JEREMY HAY AND LORI A. CARTER PRESS DEMOCRAT STAFF WRITERS Hours after Colorado prosecutors dropped their case against John Mark Karr, authorities in Sonoma County announced they would seek to bring him back to California to face child pornography charges. â??We filed the case against Mr. Karr in 2001 and the same merits in proceeding with the case then still exist today,â? District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua said in a written statement. Karr waived extradition to Colorado after his arrest in Thailand in connection with the 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, a 6-year-old girl who was found dead in her familyâ??s home. Karr, a 41-year-old former substitute teacher in Petaluma area schools, said he was responsible for the little girlâ??s death but Colorado prosecutors said DNA tests failed to link him to the slaying. Itâ??s not known if Karr will fight extradition or how soon he would appear in court for a hearing. He probably wonâ??t appear in a Sonoma County court before early September, Passalacqua said. Karr has been wanted in Sonoma County since December 2001 when he failed to appear in court for proceedings on five misdemeanor counts of possession of child pornography. He spent about six months in jail between his arrest in April 2001 and his release without bail in October 2001. In a previous interview, Passalacqua said Karr probably had served most of his jail time even if he was convicted of the child pornography charges. But, he said in the interview and repeated in his statement, that a conviction would require Karr to register for life as a sex offender. Sheriff Bill Cogbill said he also wants Karr returned to Sonoma County for prosecution. â??These kind of cases are very serious â?? frankly, I think they should be a felony â?? and we owe it to ourselves and our kids to see that justice is carried out in this case,â? Cogbill said. â??Iâ??m not saying heâ??s guilty, but we do have a very strong case,â? he said. Cogbill said sheriffâ??s deputies would arrange for Karrâ??s return to California after any extradition proceedings in Colorado. Also, Cogbill said he spoke several times last week to the Boulder police chief to try and pin down when exactly sheriffâ??s detectives in 2001 informed Boulder authorities that Karr had revealed a fascination with the Ramsey killing.
