Well, it certainly seems to be a trend. But, if you're doing nothing wrong you've got nothing to fear... right? Go back to sleep...

 

WASHINGTON - A statement attached to postal legislation by President Bush last month may have opened the way for the government to open mail without a warrant.

 

The White House denies any change in policy, but civil libertarians are alarmed, saying the government has never publicly claimed that power before.

 

Federal law has long required a search warrant to open first class mail unless postal inspectors suspect it contains something dangerous, like a bomb or a hazardous chemical, reports NBC News' Pete Williams.

You have to love the way he keeps tacking these evil little provisions on to seeminly innocuous pieces of legislation.

This is about eroding the constitutional rights

 

perhaps after the 1776 debacle americans were given too many rights to start with, now redressing the balance!!

dunno, what about a bill of responsiblitys.....rights rights rights!.....we in the west have a zillion more rights and privilidges that alot of the world and start to whine like pussys when some get taken away, sound like 4th formers at my old school when we weree told not to where white socks lol. jeesus bleeding christ just live your life and stop whittling!
