Would be great if you guys can share some of your opinions. Illegal Immigrants in USA. 1. Are they harming the economics of the USA and the legal workers? 2. Are they threaten the U.S. health care? 3. Should the USA grant birthright citizenship of illegal immigrants? 4. Should they receive amnesty? Thanks in advance. Are they threaten the U.S. health care? If they do not pay, then of course they hurt the US health care system. 3. Should the USA grant birthright citizenship of illegal immigrants? No country should give out priveleges to those who do not meet the standard for citizenship. 4. Should they receive amnesty? Some criminals do receive amnesty but criminals in general should not receive amnesty. If amnesty is given to criminals, then there is no purpose for laws. Large businesses have greatly benefited from a steady supply of cheap labor they can exploit, ie poor, dangerous working conditions, slave wages and the fact that they know the illegals can not afford to complain. 3. The USA health, labor and education systems are in disarray to say the least due to the influx on nonenglish speaking poorly educated peoples who demand special services but rarely if ever pay back. 4. According Federal stats. the average illegal and legal alien uses $40,000 US a year in state and federal benefits but contributes less than $20,000 US. 5. Crime stats on illegals have only recently been made available to the public but the most recent (2006) FBI stats list illegals accounting for more than 1/3 of all convicts (those incarcerated in state and federal prisons). Rex7777 Posted May 13, 2007 Report Share Posted May 13, 2007 I see no reason why the USA couldn't absorb a bunch of new legal immigrants. It does bother me, though, that it is the apparent policy of the Bush administration to not rigorously enforce the current immigration laws by not properly policing the border. The only beneficiaries are Bush's billionaire buddies and the big businesses that profit from the cheap labor. The middle class picks up the tab one way or the other.
