Opened the file with GSpot and voila - there was my rubbish. I haven't thought of that. Thanks. Had to try this with Nic's Mini AviC FourCC Changer and it also takes every rubbish one types in and stores it in the movie file. So the decoder chip in the Sony Player is not at fault.
