Like so much of the Thai scene, it all depends on the degree to which you want to delude yourself: Q-bar is a place where freelancers pretend to be GTGs in order to snag kee niaw farang who pretend to be investment bankers...

They do have decent djs every once in a while, but no dance floor to speak of...

happily self-deluded,

nope

Petchara/vivian lin -> Fon from rainbow bar NEP

and weddy....(did a porn movie where she takes it in the a**)

Saw them just once and must say that I was "lucky" they had not too much make up.

And no I did not talk to them and yes I am sure it was "them"

If qbar is your idea of 'GTG's SuaDum then you need to pull the shades off :(

Used to be. Haven't been there in a few years. I go to Thonglor, RCA and Rachada now.

Or maybe you need to expand your deffo of GTG (i.e., mine is: not offering sex for money, but that does not mean she's chaste). Or are you an expert on LoS now that you've been here three times?

Someone asked about WTF? That's "what the fuck?"

Cheers,

SD

You know your stuff, Drogon! Cudos!

Sorry.. a little :topic: , but where do the 88Square / Asian for You guys get those girls from? Unbelievable honeys most of them... a major cut about your average gogo chick. Most don't have the classic "Isaan look", that's for sure.

That's why I was surprised by what you wrote about Fon. (aka Vivian Lin). Surprised she worked in a Nana Gogo bar. I would think if most of these girls were working girls they would be side-line girls in the top massage places. Maybe they just make enough money from modelling on porn sites.

Would love to know where to find a few of them though!! :yikes::spin:

I do think it's changed over the years - as I posted in an earlier thread here, I even met a member of the royen family there once!

Here's the old post:

"Aside from the good house music (though no dance floor whatsoever, and the people who are there generally couldn't care less about the music - might as well be Barbie Girl by Aqua...), the Qbar crowd in the past few years is basically poseurs and the freelancers who milk them. Here's a test for whether you would like Q-bar or not:

You go to work on Friday, wearing a shirt and tie. After you get off work at five, you have dinner, then play a game of pool at a small bar. At 11 pm you finally go to Q-Bar. Do you:

a) Keep your tie on so that the freelancers know you have a job that requires a tie? or

B) Take off your tie at some point between 5 pm and 11 pm to feel more comfortable?

If you chose "a", Q-Bar is your place and your kind of people!

That said, I remember a few years ago sitting upstairs on the couches with my Thai friend and one farang woman. Two young Thai woman sat down with us, including one who was overweight, and they discussed my farang friend's jewelry with her, and even took a sip of her drink (don't remember what it was, but this Thai had never had one before and wanted a taste). A Thai guy appeared and whispered something to my Thai friend - turned out the guy was royal family security, and he was reminding my friend to behave - we were sitting with a Princess (Siribhachudhabhorn)! I doubt there are many princesses at Qbar these days...
