YimSiam
Glad to see this was not a proposition for a few hours of the bug-lady's time... I'm a grasshopper guy myself, the other bugs - especially those with a soft inside - freak me out a bit. Was recently in Cambodia, and outside Siem Reap every farmer's got a tube light, plastic sheet and tub of water -- and asked whether local people eat a lot of bugss, and they said it's not the Cambodians, it's the Thais in Isaan, bugs are an export commodity! YimSiam PS: What's the plastic sheet on the bug cart for? Keep away the insects?

YimSiam
... PS: What's the plastic sheet on the bug cart for? Keep away the insects? To keep the rain off the selections. Correct - tuukthong na kap! Although not widely known, most of these species are prone to come alive again if moistened by a light rain, like sea monkeys or Gremlins - turning the bug cart into a gruesome creepy-crawly spectacle, with the bugcart lady forced to watch her income crawl, fly and slither off to various dark corners if the rain hits... Okay, that's not actually true - only the shrimp and the bamboo worms can come back to life, none of the others - but sometimes my imagination gets carried away... Bon appetit!
