Hell, Nana Plaza basically told the expats/English teachers to fuck off years ago when they raised drink prices to over 120 baht. Nana Plaza is now for Japanese, first time tourists, and business travellers on expense accounts in Bangkok on a short stopover. When a business traveller is having his food and lodging paid for by his company, he doesn't give a shit about paying 4,000 baht or more for a fuck compared to what it would cost him to use an outcall escort service back home in the west.

So, maybe to boil it down a bit, the reason Nana show such attitude, and eats up 1,000 baht in drinks in minutes is the greed of the owners of the Plaza. It was time to move on several years ago.

Well, yes & no I guess. By all reports, Cowboy is now more expensive than NEP. But the attitude on Cowboy is still fine.

SD, I think the beer price in almost all the bars in NEP seems to be 135. Where as I found Cowboy to vary quite a bit between 110-140. As for the girls as you say the attitude far better in Cowboy and I think they are a bit more flexible price wise down there also? I rarely venture to Nana these days, it holds little attraction for me anymore. Although I know Bibblies is still rather fond of a few fillies in there? :smirk:

The Nana plaza girls are a lot better looking then the Cowboy girls in my opinion. I find Soi 1 plaza to be in the middle of the two, but rarely do we ever hear about that scene.

I had to go for a long weekend in Bangkok to take care of some things, so ofcourse i had bit of nightlife every day. MorningNight was still good for drinking, that was the closest I went to Nana this time. I visited soi 1 beer bars and it's sad they are gonna be destroyed next month. Had fun there, there were some nice girls working there.

 

Cowboy was fun as always. Even visited Thermae and was supprised how good looking girls there were but the lt 3000 baht demands made me laugh so had to get out there fast because made some girls really pissed off.

 

7/1 was fun and that's one of my favourite areas in Bangkok now.

 

All in all Nana, I won't miss you. The times I have to visit Bangkok Cowboy is enough if I wanna visit some gogos.

Actually, I'll take back what I said about NEP having more girls I like than Cowboy. It doesn't (not anymore at least). And I just can't stand the feeling of being in a Rainbow (or Crown) bar and contributing to its coffers when it tries nothing in return. :thumbdown:

 

Intercepted a cute girl last night who works/worked in one of the most popular gogos and she told me she was going to change to Soi Cowboy. While taking her home, I was advising her on which bars were best (carefully trying to steer her towards one where I didn't already have a regular )
