The religious faith of their candidate might have just a little to do with that. One can only wonder if they nominated a Buddhist if they would have done better overall in a country well over 90% Buddhist. Latest news is a landslide victory for PPP. The Thai's I have been speaking to are elated.

Thaksin is continuing to play his "divide and conquer" games. That is what he will be remembered for more than anything in Thai history.

 

Exactly right. So now Samak will be the new PM :stirthepo We'll have an interesting year ahead of us.

if PPP needs only 10 extra votes it seems pretty easy they can "buy" that many new friends,

 

But if they are stupid enough to start talking about bringing back Taskin , the Junta will stay in "business" which is bad for Thailand,

 

its pretty much a lose-lose game for Thailand and does not make LOS a good place for International investments

 

I hope it stays calm.....
