Suicidal Gunman Shoots Up Mall

OMAHA, Neb. - A man opened fire with a rifle at a busy department store Wednesday, killing eight people before taking his own life, in an attack that made holiday shoppers run screaming through a mall and barricade themselves in dressing rooms. Five more people were wounded, two critically.

 

 

The gunman left a suicide note that was found at his home by relatives, said a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the shooting. Omaha television station KETV reported that the note said he wanted to "go out in style."

 

Witnesses said the gunman fired down on shoppers from a third-floor balcony of the Von Maur store.

 

The gunman was found dead on the third floor with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his victims were discovered on the second and third floors, police said.

The US government should ban shopping malls and high school campuses. That would stop a lot of these so-called "random" gun-massacre atrocities from occurring, in my opinion.

I talked to a fella who made a call to a help center saying he was feeling suicidal. Turned out the help center was outsourced to Pakistan. They quickly asked him, "Can you drive a truck or fly a plane?"

Has anybody noticed, the nuts have their shoot outs at places that are shooting galleries to them? None of these nuts make their final moment at police stations, gun stores, etc.

Just as bullies pick on guys they know they can beat up with impunity. Gives them a real feeling of power.

 

Wonder where the dep stores security was though. And wasn't there anyone on the balcony to rush him? Last thing these arseholes expect is for someone to attack THEM.

 

p.s. Standard military training: if caught in an ambush, attack. Stay put and you all die.

Remember the two guys that held up a bank in the US and had AK47's ,vests etc ..held all the cops off ..that was some shoot out

I think they also had armour piercing bullets to use against the police - not exactly the sort of equipment one buys in one's neighbourhood sporting goods shop.

The cops could not get them with their AR-15s. They had to make some quick purchases at some gun stores for some Remington 700's, etc. It would have been a total disaster if the cops had to wait several days in order to purchase.
