Flashermac
That Korean nutter at the Virginia university had been diagnosed as dangerous, if I remember right. But he was not only turned loose, but was allowed to buy his weapons legally!
Torneyboy
Very true ..and all to late..maybe now things will change
chuckwoww
It's about funding for mental services, no money so turn people loose in the community who should be in custody for their own and other people's protection. You can't keep everybody shut up just because they get depressed. This kid wasn't happy at home apparently...plenty of kids feel like that...he felt like a piece of shit. Also he'd just split up with his girlfriend, got fired from McDonald's (that must hurt). He knew where there was an AK and ammunition...wanted to show the world what he could do. Just a sad set of circumstances. Maybe you should see that movie 'No Country For Old Men' Flasher. The title says it all. It's about social breakdown basically. Entertaining too. Flashermac
There is definitely a social breakdown in the US. Americans have been armed ever since the country's founding, but people almost never went out and started killing at random. If anything, there are fewer firearms around now than in the past - but far more killings. WTF is going on?

Bangkoktraveler
Probably one factor is a parent or teacher can not paddled their asses anymore. They are allowed to do as they please.
chuckwoww
Possibly. Or maybe pedophile stepfather/teacher was enjoying him/herself with the paddle while ex-pornstar mum was shooting up in the bathroom....or gun freak dad shoots kid's puppy to teach him how to be a man...hey come on kid...this is fun... liquidflux
I think the media and the internet have a big influence on the decisions of kids (and adults) who do stuff like this. They're all desperately seeking attention. Apparently this guy in Omaha left a suicide note saying something along the lines of "now I'll be famous." With current mass media, this story is worldwide instantly and his wish comes true. 10 years ago it would probably make the local news and that would be the end of it. chuckwoww
Very good point. You can see it with things like Jackass and some of the crap on Youtube.
Flashermac
"Humour" in the 21st century: Two Penn State students, dressed as Virginia Tech shooting victims, at a Halloween party have enraged people from the Virginia Tech community, as well as the entire country.
