I have now heard from at least 2 sources that the bars (in Bangkok) will be closed next week end and the closure will be strictly enforced. One Thai restaurateur/bar owner was even suggesting it would be three days, The reason given is the elections and the suggestion was something to do with people being able to vote early. As this rumour seems to have good credence I thought that this boards collective knowledge base (and contacts) could get to the bottom of it and whether this is BKK only or country wide.
