..
The Lemongrass on Soi 24 ? Jim Thompsons Trader Vics sunday buffet across the river and a an Italian near Asoke ....La Griga ? Lemongrass? -- Crap! Unless you like your Thai food Aussie/English style: without spices. Italian? Try Rossano's (no link: Asoke soi 3) French? Try Le Banyan or Phillipe's. Jim Thompsons: ??? Do they serve food? I thought they only sold silk. So it can't be much to talk about. Trader Vic's Sunday: Highly recommended. Get your best value by getting there at 1130 and getting kicked out at 1530! Thanks Mekong... Also recommended on Sunday: Imperial Queen's Park champers brunch. Same advise as above. Recommended anytime: Maha Naga. Lord Jim's. Benjarong. You're welcome. Cheers, SD
khun_khon_neua
There is a Jim Thompsonâ??s Cafe of some sort on SalaDaeng Soi 2. Never tried it, but it appears to be well decorated as you would expect. I really like Sirocco the couple of times I have been there. The view and atmosphere is amazing. The times we have been there service is top notch, food is good, but agree nothing spectacular. Good wine selection, which easily drives bill up toward 10k. A very nice evening each time. samak
The Lemongrass on Soi 24 ?Jim Thompsons Trader Vics sunday buffet across the river and a an Italian near Asoke ....La Griga ? La Gritta (Soi 19) or Il Giusto (Soi 23)? both are ok but do not belong to the best italian in town! better are: Rossini (Sheraton), Angelini (Shangrila), Gianni's, La Villa, Beccofino, Bacco, Biscotti (Four Seasons) and the new one Suadum mentioned: Rossano. however all those are not cheap, in particular if you want to drink a decent wine! if you are on a budget, go to Pan Pan (Suk Soi 33), still good! agree with Suadum re Lemongrass' farangthai-food! there are many better ones around, even in Sukhumvit like Wanakharm (Soi 23, green route), Phuang Kaeow (Soi 23, green route), Orient and Lai Ros (both Soi 49), Rosabieng (Soi 11) or the isaan restaurants Sabaijai Gai Yang (Ekamai), Steak Lao (Soi 39); even the also a bit touristy Baan Khanita (Soi 23) is better than Lemongrass!
