MooNoi
One of them said "Falang big cock" which nearly made him run into the car in front I take it that was one of your g/f's friends... not your gf herself, right?
Julian2
No, they were all great girls. It was a real mix in my flat in Vientiane, they would turn up with shopping bags of food in droves and cook up huge Lao meals, then loaf in front of the TV playing cards for the rest of the day. I was tempted many times and even got a couple of offers, (one sent her uncle to negotiate) but I was with one of the loves of my life at the time and you know how that goes. One of the great years of my life.
luckyfarang
<<< I remember hearing "Naa fan jang luhy"... (that guy's really fuckable)>>> Not familiar with the word "fan" The "fan" that I know means "tooth" Is this dialect or slang? If you are not sure, could you please post the thai script? khunsanuk
Hi, Slang I think. I believe it is close in pronunciation to the 'fan' for dreaming. So, 'noon lap fan dee' can have a double meaning Sanuk!

So, 'noon lap fan dee' can have a double meaning Sanuk! FAN® - - - dream FAN - - - - tooth So then the obscene slang word has a rising tone. Old Hippie
I thought there was some form of "fan" which ment a boyfriend or girl friend? In fact, I get asked "khun mee fan Thai Mai?" a lot. Of course they could be inquiring about my dental work...
..
I prefer to Anglicize "dream" (à ¸Âà ¸±à ¸?) and "tooth" (à ¸?à ¸±à ¸?) as fun, vs fan. Sounds closer to the pronunciation IMHO. OH, you are thinking à ¹Âà ¸?à ¸?, which can be written fan or (better) faen. Cheers, SD
