drogon
There is something really strange. I always loved military bands, sad that this young musician died. But how did he die???

Flashermac
Bass guitarist in a Marine rock band is a bit unusual. Strange that his own family doesn't know what happened.
elef
My guess is that the band came to BKK for a concert on july 4th. It's suspicious that the rest is secret so maybe some bar fighting...
Pom Michael
Two military members died in Phuket last month, one in the news the other I didn't see. One fell from a hotel balcony, the other I believe from a heart conditon. Both died on active duty - that statement means nothing really. But agree, something very strange here - at some point the rest of the story should come out.
samak
some questions to our fellow americans: clear what "die in combat" means; but "on active duty", is on R&R "active duty"? then they say "die on tour"; looks more like R&R for me. how can he have 4 parents? how can they announce a funeral without body? Flashermac
Active duty simply means you are an active member of the military, not in a standby reserve unit or whatever. You can be on active duty anywhere. I think if he'd been on leave, the news reports would have said that. The four parents looks to me like he was adopted. One set is his birth parents, the other his adoptive. Or perhaps his parents divorced and remarried. It is confusing.
