You created the situation here. There's a responsibility attached to such behaviour. You don't get to abuse people without repercussions. If you don't like it go elsewhere.

I'm not the one sobbing like a girl.

Neither am I, so what on earth are you talking about?

Repeat after me RY....drugs are bad....drugs are bad....

Tomorrow we will move onto something more challenging, like admitting you have a problem.

It seems to me that if the British government wants to kick down someone's door and drag them off against their will they should at least get authorization from one of the newly-minted Sharia courts or something.

Social workers should be able to break into homes to check old people are not being abused, say ministers

By Steve Doughty and Sophie Borland

16th October 2008

Daily Mail

Social workers should have the power to break into homes to check that elderly and vulnerable people are not being harmed by their children, ministers have said.

New laws should also give them the right to remove old people who are at risk from their homes - even if they do not want to go.

But some charities said the plans, published in a consultation paper on Thursday, did not go far enough.

Gary Fitzgerald of Action on Elder Abuse said: 'These plans will not ensure older people and other adults at risk of abuse get the sort of protection available to children, people experiencing domestic violence, or even animals.

'The Government cannot afford to get this wrong.'

(Hee, hee, hee. I'll say! - r.y.)

Social workers do not at present have powers to demand entry to a home without a court order and the presence of police officers.

The powers put forward yesterday could go not just to social workers but to other 'professionals' who suspect abuse, for example doctors or medical workers.

(Clerks? Orderlies? Janitors? - r.y.)

The paper proposes they have 'a power to remove an adult who does have capacity and who does not consent, but who is thought to be being subjected to harm.'

New powers to take adults away against their will could also be applied to people who are fully capable of making their own choices and who are not being abused by others, but are thought to be a danger to themselves.

(Eeek! - r.y.)

hey rogie, they can break doors down in the USA without court orders, so what is new?

The house we live in, we acquired thru the courts. What happened is the county claimed the woman who used to live there, could not take care of herself. So the county took her away and then sold her house to us.

Sounds like Socialism to me.

rogie, why are you so concerned with the UK's problems? Do you plan moving there so as to get away from all of the LEFTIST? :nono:

they can gain garden tools without knocking down doors if the require them though!!

I think the previous decision was made in anticipation of this present one. The State wants citizens to provide their government with free, readily accessable tools so that the government can then use those tools to break down the citizens' doors and haul them off without warrant. One must seek efficiencies everywhere in the modern, full-service State.

The only ones who can say the British government are overstepping are the Brits themselves.

Each country, culture, etc. have their own level of tolerance for government intervention. The UK and Europe have a far higher taolerance level than America do generally.

There are rules of evidence, heresay, etc. that are accepted in the UK or Europe that would not be accepted in a court here.

The 50 states here have varied laws on tort, felonies, etc. So, within the U.S. we all have different tolerances based on the state or region.

The Brits should handle their own problems and outsiders should keep their noses out of their business.

As the USA straddles the toilet, it amazes me that rogie can disenfrachise himself from the USA problems, and has chosen to take on what he understands to be British problems with his pompous position of knowing everything.

Homeowners could be forced to sell part of their land so travellers and gypsies can have permanent sites

By Caroline Grant

17th November 2008

dailymail.uk

Homeowners are facing the prospect of being forced to sell their own land to make space for gypsy campsites under orders from the government.

Desperate to build permanent sites for travellers and gypsies, the Government is launching what has been described as a 'land grab', which could see fields and even private gardens converted into pitches for mobile homes.

One local authority is now warning its residents that their land could be brought under compulsory purchase if they refuse to sell up to make way for hundred of travellers setting up home in their town.
