Lord Toad
That would solve all the problems. I can not but feel that is what many would like. Him and her living elsewhere and unable to come back. Also all the frozen billions could then be confiscated for good!

Pom Michael
Munchie, If I remember correctly, the values are based on par value of the stock (since it was not really 'sold'), but the tax was assessed on market value of the stock. Today the par value of ADVANC is still 1 baht per share, but the market value is 86 baht per share. Or could be book value was used (book value now is 27.10 baht per share). But good question! shygye
A tax of 546 MB on a value of 738 MB is a tax rate of 74% !!! These numbers seem off except for Norway.
samak
Pojaman as well as Taksin will never go to jail. Just a bit face saving, pretend that there is justice in Thailand etc. even convicted murderers among powerful politicians do not serve their jail sentences. the english newspapers pretend that they fled abroad while they still live untouched in Thailand! TIT!
JayT
Talk about a proven flight risk! It's been reported that Thaksin was relieved of his passport. No doubt the authorities have seized hers as well.

JayT
You think they don't have duplicates? And the border is full of holes. 5555+ That's a good one! And a great idea for an evening soap on the local tv. It could be called "The Fugitives" > Follow the innocent ex-PM and his forlorn wife as they flee capture through the rain forests of Thailand, aided by the common folk, while they stay one step ahead of the pursuing death squads and wild tigers. Khun_Kong
Flight RISK, you say? This is unbelievable (except for the fact that TIT) Both Thaksin and Pokemon have left the country for Japan. They promise to return August 10. Neither one could make it to court today for the start of their trial in the land fraud at Ratchada. Guess his passport was not revoked. Pity that.
