devils reject
Legendary soul icon Isaac Hayes dead at age 65. I absolutely loved 'Hot Buttered Soul' and 'Theme from Shaft' remains one of my favourite riffs of all time.

Julian2
A great loss to Soul. Remember the Cameo roll he played in Shaft?
devils reject
I don't actually. I know I've seen the movie many years ago but don't remember too much about it. I'll see if I can rent it out at the local video store.

USVirgin
I'm at a loss to come up with a more influential musical figure in my lifetime, especially as it relates to Hollywood. Only Paul Anka comes to mind as another artist who did a lot more behind the scenes than the masses generally knew about. Isaac Hayes was all over the place. They say he was the forefather of rap. I wish he hadn't done that. He leaves a great legacy.

USVirgin
I don't recall those episodes (wouldn't mind seeing them though). What I do remember about The Rockford Files is that Jim lived in a trailer parked right by the beach outside The Sandcastle restaurant and bar at Paradise Cove. I never aspired to live in a trailer, but if they'd let me park it there, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. PS. Looking closely at that old photo, I guess they did allow trailers in that lot back in the day, but not in the 70's, IIRC. There was a campground, away from the beach, for them. ..
Isaac used to call Rockford "Rockfish." Good episodes of that series. Cheers, SD
