I think it was the militaristic element of US foreign policy that turned Francis Fukuyama off the Neocons. He doesn't like the way the War on Terror has morphed into the War on Islam. He's more a hearts and minds guy.

And he didn't really address the current economic crisis. It's not just US banks that don't want to lend to each other. There are trillions of dollars waiting to be reinvested in the US if the government and Wall Street start to show fiscal responsibility.

Good points.

I get the feeling that the hatreds expressed toward some during the 60's and early 70's still exist but now are focused on other groups. For example, there was an abnormal hatred for blacks back in the 60's. One common expression was [color:red]"We should put those god damn nigars on boats, send the boats out into the ocean, and then sink the boats." [/color]Today, we hear some expressing the same genocidal feelings toward those of Islamic beliefs.

The desire to promote genocide starts with name calling, then trying to stir shit up so some might riot, etc. and then the next step is outright persecution of select groups.

You are completely out of your mind.

Not even the other leftists on this board think this shit is anything other than utterly unhinged.

Just ask them.

Yeah. People are always looking for someone to blame. Muslims represent a perfect 'other' out there coming to get us. Of course some of them really do hate our guts.

He has a point, albeit over simplified. Look up the authoritarian personality type sometime RY. I posted links before, but curiously you failed to comment on them.

I guess it must be scary to realise just how utterly dysfunctional you are RY, so I empathise with your inability to confront the reality of your predicament. Change is painful, the first step is to admit you have a problem. With our support you'll make it through. Hang in there buddy.

As an aside, I'm often quietly amused about how many of the founding fathers of neo-conservatism were in fact originally liberals....

That is because you are an idiot. The word "neo-conservative" was originally coined to refer to conservatives who had previously been socialists. The "neo-" prefix referred not to some new type of conservatism but rather to new adherents of existing conservatism. Now, of course, "neo-conservative" means the same thing as "fascist"; someone opposed by leftists.

Are you saying that because you oppose Leftists you are a fascist?

I truly believe your hatred of certain groups is going to bring about your own down fall.

Yes. Faustian is often quietly amused about that. Nice to see you guys find common ground.
