The_Munchmaster
....BBC is reporting that PAD are letting some 88 flights out with passengers. No apparent sign of arrivals restarting.... No. BBC are reporting that 88 empty planes are being allowed to leave. "About 40 empty planes have flown out of Bangkok's international airport after authorities reached a deal with protesters camped there for seven days. The deal allows a total of 88 planes to be flown out to other Thai airports, where it is hoped they can evacuate some of the blockaded tourists." Also it will take a week to open Bangkok airports after the occupation is over.

beano
Would there be safety issues with airports like Phuket and Chiang Mai taking so much extra traffic that they may not be used to handling?
cavanami
I don't think the other airports are taking extra flights. From what I see, the airlines are just ruuning their normal flight shedules to Chamg mai andPhuket. The "new" airport is Utapao and the reports are, that it is a "mess", very slow going. ..
Well, at least China Airlines has moved their hub from BKK to CNX. I've had two friends come into the country that way this week... Cheers, SD
