In my last job I worked with Child protection agencies, I asked is there more pedo's now than say 20 years and was told, No we are just better at catching them.

So the internet has not really made a difference, but we are all more aware.

I also learned while there that we catch more pedo's today because they now go after the middle class professionals, years ago in the UK it was thought that they only existed in the lower classes on the council estates.

True.

One of the projects I am currently working on is a software for some law enforcement agencies designed to find more easily these people.

Internet allowed them to more easily share and create networks but it makes it easier too to catch them, provided the is enough funding for police departments specifically looking for these sickos.

This is a fact that victims are usually from "lower classes" but the perpetrators are usually middl/upper class although, when it comes to the familial cell all levels of society are concerned...

Of course, for big "sickos networks" it is easier for them to get children in poor countries...

Lazyphil.

Yes this is digusting some people who swore to protect us and even in the case of child workers who vowed to protect children get caught...

But see the positive side please, they do get caught and this is more and more the case (even if too PC cases appear such as the Simpson's cartoon).

Keep in mind that not even two centuries ago, children in brothels were considered normal (and in some countries this is still seen as being normal such as India).

As I have alway been a kind of a geek I remember well the begining of internet -> you stumbled every time on a "sick website", at that time being a teenager I was about to puke every time I went browsing for normal porn.

So yes the news we get regularly are disgusting but they do get caught more often...

Even places like LOS are getting cleaner.

Cheers mate

nope. cant you read? nowhere did i say ban all porn or subversive books, you're reading things that are not there)....ban child porn.dont patronise me.

There is one famous book that several writers have written books about trying to unravel what that one famous book was trying to say. What most of them agree upon is an older man called Joseph went and had relations with a young girl (about 12) who was called Mary and that she got preganat and had a bastard who, later in his life, had a violent death when he was executed.

Nobody wants that famous book banned, especially rogie.

Phil, please enlighten me as to how censoring/banning the internet and censoring/banning books are any different.

I'm not talking about stuff like pedo featuring a 5 year old; that's already illegal. I'm talking about changing titles of books, etc. as we have already discussed; stuff that is not illegal but censorship is being promoted by some (including yourself as I read your posts).

Why is one OK in your mind (internet) and the other wrong (books)?

Cheers,

SD
