Hugh_Hoy
Well, for once, NK did what it said it would do: went ahead with it's long range missile test against the wishes of all countries who voiced an opinion. I don't expect all the rhetoric coming from the White House, Japan, and other concerned countries and the UN (especially) to result in any action being taken to reign in the NK regime. I'm with those who think that maybe NK is just another "mouse that roared". http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090406/ap_on_re_as/as_nkorea_missile http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mouse_That_Roared HH

Hugh_Hoy
Yep, sure did. Good old Peter Sellers. I loved his movies. Dr. Strangelove, Pink Panther...to me he was great. If there was a World Heritage Cast for actors/actresses, he'd be right there at the top of the list. HH
Flashermac
Leonard Wibberley, an Anglo-Irish novelist, wrote the Mouse That Roared. There were several more, including the Mouse on the Moon, also made into a film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Wibberley
..
I agree completely HH. It's worth keeping in mind, of course, that this situation is more dangerous than it should be in large part because the Bush administration pursued the dumbest possible U.S. policy towards North Korea, which allowed them to develop nuclear weapons in the first place. Bangkoktraveler
Shouldn't a country be allowed to develope weapons to protect themselves? The USA develops weapons that are far greater then the weapons North Korea is developing but nobody tells the USA they must stop.
Flashermac
Do you think Kim Jong Il is a rational being? Are ICBMs and nuclear weapons defensive weapons for a small country in Asia? Which one do you trust more with nuclear weapons - Barack Obama or Kim Jong Il? Are you aware that North Korea's economy is totally f*cked and the country has to rely on gifts of food from other countries? Does this sound like a good way for Glorious Leader General Kim Jong Il to be spending "his" money? So who is going to attack NK anyway?

Cheers, SD Hey Slick...I KNOW you don't want to read this, but just to balance things out a bit; some may want to take a gander: http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2003/1/7/164846.shtml I know you'll looooooooove this particular part: "The fact remains that Bill Clinton's legacy is an unstable world filled with hungry dictators and nuclear weapons. The result of the Clinton appeasement policy toward China is a new arms race." HH
..
I give you a serious article written by a former Bushie, a writer for the WSJ, Forbes and now at the AEI, still a conservative darling (you can't call it biased), and you respond with an article from the tin-foil-hat rag NewsMax. I guess any other comment is superfluous... Keep grasping at those straws, HH. Bush fucked up bad. He was playing poker with crazy Lil Kim. LK called his bluff and Chimpy folded. Almost as embarrassing as the Brits surrendering Singapore to the bicycling-riding Japanese in 1941, and just as disastrous. Cheers, SD
