Flashermac
Didn't rain at all my way (Soi 93 Suk) but I wish it would have poured all day and end the protests! Don't know if that would work. Gassy turds usually float.
drogon
At least it would help put down some fires, refresh the atmosphere for you....(and maybe help wash away the blood if it gets serious)
Khun_Kong
Just got home after a survey of my 'hood, Victory Monument. This afternoon... Hundreds of armed troops, several thousand Reds. In my neighborhood, nothing is open, shopfronts shut tight, not even a 7-11. Troops have clips in their guns and have fired several hundred shots while I was watching. At least 4 buses on Rachaprarop crashed, bombed, 1 burned to a charred metal skeleton, another mildly burned, 2 crashed into a now downed power pole, another into a tree. Several ambulances in the hood and 1 vehicle with a manned machine gun turrent mounted on top. At least 6 soldiers with some kind of small machine guns, similar to BARs, I think (little dipod/tripod at the front). Reds armed with sticks, stones, small explosives, slingshots and bottles. Lots of projectiles. Reds will taunt troops, rush at them, throwing their shit. Troops respond by hooting, shaking their clubs and select members fire rounds into the air. Many "journalists", Thai and farang, milling about. No sense of actual danger. Had 2 women come from the Reds and go right up to the troops. They proceeded to remove their clothes and were dragged behind the lines of soldiers (I'm not making this shit up). They were then "rescued" by some Reds and escorted back to their lines, cheered on and clapped to, treated as heroines. Reds have been systematically pushed back from intersection of Rachaprarop and Rajawithi, near the Park something Hotel, almost to Sri Ayudheya (or whatever they call it at Rachaprarop). Don't understand why the troops let the protestors stand on the overpasses and throw flaming shit at them? Like the others are reporting, just a swell, feel-good picnic day. YMMV. Happy New Year.
