TroyinEwa/Perv
I don't get the law, in this case. Because she is pregnant now, doesn't mean she will be pregnant forever. Are they saying women with children can't be put to death? Cuz eventually the kid will pop out and then she won't be prego anymore. Can they kill her then??? Flashermac
I remember reading that female pirates in the 17th and 18th centuries escaped hanging by "pleading their belly". Maybe the idea is that mama has to take care of the kid,
Bangkoktraveler
This case just emphasizes the point that if you get arrested in a foreign country, don't expect your own country to try to help you. You are basically on your own.
spirit_of_town_hall
I agree, she was detected at the airport with drugs strapped to her. She could have been forced at gun point to do this, maybe this is what she will tell the judge. All the liberal do gooders are already in Laos screaming for her release. She's Nigerian as far as I am concerned, why the UK is wasting its money on her I dont know. Apparently she is 5 months pregnant, this will be the news for the next few months I am sure. teddy
She's Nigerian as far as I am concerned, why the UK is wasting its money on her I dont know. She has lived in Britain since she was 8 years old and has a British passport. She is British, why is she Nigerian as far as you are concerned? teddy
I see, so what if she was white and born in Australia, would that change things?
allistar
Sure. Same Queen. On a side note; does anyone in Britian actually refer to themselves as British? Or do they refer to themselves as English, Scottish, Welsh and Ulster?
Flashermac
I know a Scot who refers to himself as British. He says he does so to make it clear he is not a Scottish nationalist. (He's retired army.)
..
Sure. Same Queen. Not even a good try. Nigeria was a British colony, so...same queen, etc. Cheers, SD
