gobbledonk
Whenever Ms Crazypants gets particularly annoying, I announce that I am booking the train to Nong Khai. Shuts her up immediately. Anyone spending time in Vientiane needs to take a couple of really good books. By all means, take company, but she will probably do little bar eat and sleep. Gives you peace and quiet to read those books.

shygye
I thought you get 15 days if you go through a land border or 30 going through international airport.

dddave
Land border crossing is 15 days. You can get a 60 day, single entry visa at the consulate in Vientiane; takes 2 days.Application must be in before 11am, 2 pictures required, B1000. Note: Consulate is in a separate location from the Embassy. You can extend the 15 day by an additional 7 days at Bangkok Immigration; Suan Plu but it's expensive, about B1000
