Breakthrough ! Issan sustainability problem finally resolved

Very well .

First let me say I am holding great respect for the Isaan people most of them working like the idiots for almost nothing in the burning sun . If I say lazy I mean their mai pen rai attitude which is counterproductive performing business activities .

I am going to do this resort thing . Honourable members of this fine board may confirm that I have an attitude of supporting abstract ventures even if I do not understand at all what is going on , mostly I have been lucky in the past . This is going to be run under SIAM 2 on my private balance sheet .

- I have sought legal advice on the project and asked a specialised company to deal with all paperwork , licenses and law issues involved , they will set up a Ltd showing Thai shareholders only , cost for this is very low .I realise the problem of the falang intruder . My current rough calculation includes donations to the local charity officials . I have been building in Portugal , conditions are same same .

- The monetary side : I am not sure if the esteemed gentlemen reralise what I am finally talking about : these are motels at the roadside along the [color:red]HIGHWAY TO SISAKET[/color] and not as such short time places , although being used as such . There is none of them offering rates below 300 and that means no aircon and no hot water . I say again these establishemnts are all full at night as far as I could see . The trick would still be to finance as much as possible to let the bank have the joy once it goes down the drain . Apart from this , all spending is for hardware incl land , not for the license of a bar .

- It is wrong to think that all Thais are idiots and will be too stupid anyway to run such a place . I have personally met most acceptable subjects during my field research , some of them even developed the agricultural side to remarkable success . This is not a complex hotel but the evolution of a single Thai household to maybe 20 of exactly the same type . New to me that Thais should be unable to clean a room of 15 sqm . For piece of mind : a member of the housekeeping of a certain BKK hotel might spend several months on site to train the crew. I have been thinking about this of course . They are happy to get rid of surplus staff during low season , unpaid leave . The places we visited mostly employ untrained staff like students and all sorts of part timers .

- Location is of minor importance since the typical customer is the travelling salesman or punter on the way to his beloved one . There has to be a restaurant on site and a small shop . Many of these places are far away from the cities , nobody spends his holiday here .

I think the idea is great

The restaurant part is good - many do that - I am still dubious it's used for hotel purposes other than 2 hour sections - what are the people doing who stay there? It is a good project - careful on cost of plumbing - and are they going to be aircon? That adds 15k at least just there
