buffalo_bill
Gentlemen , it is still more than early days with this project but I am not sure any more if this will make me sort of rich or drive me into madness finally . What I have come across so far makes me wonder how a Western subject can mentally survive in this world of commercial amok . Preliminary findings : - About 2 third of the people who advertise land for sale do not know about any land for sale if you ring them - I want to know under which circumstances a Thai registered Ltd could import material from China . A well known international freight company introduced me to their BKK office . I sent an email on July 21st . 9 days later their German office contacted me they had lost the mail if I could send it again which I did . Since then silence . - On July 21st I sent an email to a well known Thai based company that claims to be of outstanding help in all business affairs of whichever kind . A day later my mail has been answered saying a Mr. X , specialist in this field and of breathtaking knowledge would contact me . Silence since then . - My temporary chief advisor and project manager , the meter taxi pilot , said he is considering a future position as hotel manager and suggests 16.000 Baht would be acceptable as monthly sallaly . Principally speaking , the only overall constructive input so far . Probably I have to change my strategy into first doing something and then sort it out which would mean I first build the place somewhere on a convenient plot without asking anybody and then wait what happens next . Maybe nobody will notice . I keep you posted , this looks like greatest entertainment
rchapstick
- On July 21st I sent an email to a well known Thai based company that claims to be of outstanding help in all business affairs of whichever kind . A day later my mail has been answered saying a Mr. X , specialist in this field and of breathtaking knowledge would contact me . Silence since then . Sounds like you are dealing with a company that rhymes with FunSmelt Pasia. I once emailed them and got the same response (or lack of therein), so I decided to pop by their office on Suk (near Soi 12). The esteemed "professional" could be seen passed-out at his desk, in close proximity to an empty bottle of whiskey. This was at about noon. ThaiHome
Suggest you try Indo-Siam to help setup the company and perhaps give you some sound advice on acquiring the property and importing the material. They will respond to an e-mail. If they don’t, let me know. TH
buffalo_bill
Thank you , at the moment I am trying an Isaan-based outfit which does at least answer emails . Further advantage being that it is mostly Thai which might help to penetrate the local ambience .Should this also fail I would try yours . rgds BuBi
CTO
So how's it going - when can I rent a short time? Do I need to BYO?
buffalo_bill
CTO , BuBi - sponsored lodges off all classes are the local monuments of only the highest moral standards . Therefore , I will not allow any questionable activities on my premises . Unless you pay a joiner fee which would come under double-pricing rules at 400 for falang , 120 for Thai citizens , meaning punter plus Thai lass pays 520 grand total . Currently I am evaluating several locations , will take a few months . On the lagal side there are amazing possibilities to overcome the land ownership problems by considering things like usufruct etc . I may at that point praise an establishment called Issan properties in Khorat which runs a property business and an obviously competent law office , sort of . So far the only useful brick in the wall except the taxi driver .
